Place the edging according to your design, either by pounding it directly into the ground or creating a narrow trench. Drive each stake in until it sits below the top of the edging. Consider gently wetting the ground with your garden hose before beginning your project if you have firm or dry soil. To account for the 2.5-inch overlap, divide the total linear feet needed and divide by 6.79. Round up any decimals to ensure an adequate number of edging sections to complete the job.
