Added a 12 inch electric cord.

I like it a lot. It needs a foot or more electric cord in many, but not all cases.

Does the job, but could have been made easier.

Plan on using an extension cord in order to be able to read this thing on anything but a countertop plug in. Got some good information from it with a little research and math. While I would recommend to a friend, the best way is to just loan it to them. Wish my library district was like some others around the country and loaned these things out like a book. Works as expected. Could be more compact.

This works as expected and has given me energy usage figures for a number of devices and outlets, as well as letting me easily compare "soft off" vs "hard off" power usage on these devices. However it has a couple of mild annoyances - it doesn't "remember" what I had it set on last, so I have to cycle through to watts every time I plug it in since that's what I want to see, and the screen is a plain old LCD, so I sometimes need a flashlight to read it. Awesome tool

This is one of the easiest ways to see what your appliances are doing. I plugged in my surge protector from my TV/DVD player to find out that the huge old TV was drawing 22W while off! This prompted me to move the surge protector so that I can easily switch it on and off. I think it's also good to see how much of my electricity use goes to TV/entertainment, lest I forget how to read a book... If you have an electrical bill that is too high and you cant figure out why, then this is a great product to own. Easy to use and not too much money for the price.
