Works, but quality control not great

These are good, reliable heaters, and I made the two I bought work, but quality control is not great. Both units had one of the brackets riveted incorrectly. This was not a coincidence as both units had the same bracket offset by the same amount, so it appears that the machine manufacturing this batch was misaligned. Results are that the front element guard is slightly bowed on both of my units now. In addition to that, one of the unit's frames was actually twisted a bit. I secured both to the s...

Nice and simple

Would Recommend

Worked perfectly, but for a DIY install it helped to have AI as a guide alongside the user manual. Also it smells like oil for the first ~4 hours of use, so hopefully installing in a season where you can open a window. The smell clears; it just has to clear off machine shop crud. Otherwise great, simple product. The technology hasn’t advanced in decades!
