What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly report premature mechanical failure, with most describing engine failure, oil leaks, and inability to start after just months or a few uses. Many note the mower stopped working within one season despite initial functionality, citing seized engines, carburetor failures, and drive cable breakdowns. Reviewers express deep frustration over unresponsive support and denied claims. A small number praise initial performance, but nearly all conclude the frequent breakdowns and lack of meaningful assistance make the mower unreliable and not worth the investment. Overall, customers feel abandoned and view this as poor value.

Bought this lawn mower model 12A A26B793 March 2024. Not been one time it has not needed starting fluid to start. As of today won’t start at all. It is being placed in the trash for pick up tomorrow.

Don’t waste your money
I have always really been happy with Craftsman. I figured I couldn’t go wrong with this purchase. I bought this mower last year. It worked great. This year I changed the air filter, new spark plug set to proper gap and fresh gas. Won’t start after almost an hour of trying. I have never had this issue with a mower this new. I have made some bad purchases in the past, but this may be the my all time worst purchase.

DO NOT BUY
Terrible mower!! Do not waste your money on this. It worked for one season and when we brought it back out this season the engine wont stay on. We replaced the fuel and oil and even when through three bottles of starting fluid to get it going. It only works for a minute before the engine dies again. Big disappointment.

Poor Performance, no easy fixes
Mower really struggles if grass is high, even at highest cut setting. Self-propelled saps power from blade so grass must be even shorter. Air filter cap kept coming off and is now lost, part number unavailable it seems online. Mower has burned through a lot of oil for a new mower. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED! I expected better from Craftsmen but I guess quality has dropped.

Save Your $$$
I can't say loud enough how disappointed I am with this lawn mower. I may have used it a half dozen times before we ran into issues with it being unable to crank. Incredibly frustrating. I'm on the doorstep of buying another lawn mower and chalk this one up to wasting money.

Just like everyone else, mower worked for one season, then started having problems with staying running. Plugs and gas were fine. Tried carb cleaner, which helped a little bit. The thing just doesnt run 100% anymore.

Not worth the headaches
Worked fine all last year and for the first e cuts of this season. Opened it up, all connected, new gas, new oil. Nothing. Going to change spark plug. Have had a Craftsman mower for the past 17 years and never had a single issue until now.

Don't waste your money.
Used this mower 3 times. Then it started leaking oil and won't run properly. I've had it 36 days. You would think for the price you pay it would be better. I don't think I'll be buying craftsman anymore. It seems like every else is having the same problem and it runs for 30 days and then quits working.
