Hide your deck screws on almost any board with the Camo hidden deck fastening system. Achieve a fastener-free, professional looking deck top using one of our Camo Marksman deck tools. Simply insert our CAMO edge deck screw into each side of a Marksman tool, align with the deck joists, and fasten. Automatic spacing between deck boards is provided with the Marksman tools. For a 1/16in board spacing on pressure treated lumber use our Marksman Pro-X1 deck tool. For a 3/16in spacing on hardwoods, composite, and PVC boards use our Marksman Pro or Marksman ProNB deck tools. On narrow deck boards between 3-1/4" and 5", use our Marksman ProNB tool. Achieve the perfect automatic deck fastener depth when using the provided T-15 star drives. Our coated trimhead hidden edge deck screws are installed on the edge of the deck board, providing a clean surface, also leveraging the strength of the entire deck screw by going in on an angle, pinning the board in place from both sides. The rake tip design augers out material as it is driven helping to prevent splitting, cracking, and bubbling, extending the life of your deck. The coarse thread of these hidden deck fasteners provide the fastener with greater durability and resistance to stripping.

Not for pressure treated decks

But this tool hoping for the look of a smooth deck surface with no visible screws. Within a month the deck boards started to pop up. One even split due to the design of the tool putting the screw at an angle on the edge. Believe they need an even longer screw than the ones recommended for pressure treated wood. System would probable safe for composite decking as it doesn’t shrink. I have since had to install traditional deck screws to hold my boards in place. Unfortunately this has been an expe...

I used this with pressure treated 2x4s and it worked perfectly.This tool allows you to quickly and efficiently install decking with perfect spacing and no visible screw heads. And because the screws are driven at an angle, planks are fastened more securely.

Not for hardwoods like Ipe

The idea of the CAMO system is a good one, however, the testimonials that stated it worked well with Hardwoods such as Ipe are askew. It became necessary for me to pre-drill all screws in order for them to counter sink flush with the edge of the board. If this is not done you cannot remove the CAMO jig. Overall it is not as easy as it was described. Using the CAMO system on a softer wood such as pine or pressure treated wood make work better. I believe there are better systems designed specifica...
