The Bosch RH745 SDS-max® 1-3/4 In. rotary hammer features best in class drilling and chiseling performance with 8.2 Ft.-Lbs. Impact energy (EPTA). The hammer features two modes of operation. Rotary hammer or hammer-only and a variable speed dial for controlled drilling and chiseling applications. The tool also features the Vario-Lock function. This allows the chisel to be rotated into 12 different positions to optimize the working angle when used in hammer only mode.

Would Recommend

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I remodel gunite and shotcrete swimming pools and this is the perfect hammer for chipping/demo as well as core drilling 3” holes.

Great drill but...

Would Recommend

As a plumber, I use this RH745 regularly for chipping concrete or drilling through outside walls for water lines. I've had it roughly 2 years no problem. I needed to core a 5 inch hole for a drain pipe, the first big hole I've drilled, and the today function broke. Not impressed after contacting bosch and found out its not warrantie. Hopefully the repair isn't too costly.

Good for drilling rock!

Would Recommend

I'm using the RH745 primarily for drilling holes in granite. For breaking rock I drill 5/8" holes for feathers and wedges, which takes about 1 minute per hole. I also drill 1-1/4" holes for splitting with expansive cement. That's about the largest size I would recommend with this tool in granite. I'm sure larger bit sizes would be OK in concrete. RPM's are surprisingly low but very effective. It's the impact energy that does the job. The hammer is surprisingly easy to use and control, espe...

Best Heavy Duty Rotary Hammer on the Market!

I've had the RH745 for several years and didn't realize how much I used it and how valuable to my business it was until it was stolen. I immediately went out and purchased another and will be a lot more careful with this one. Whether driving in ground rods or drilling through concrete, it can't be beat. On one jobsite it drove 35 ground rods in the same amount of time it took for one man with a sledgehammer. It literally paid for itself on one job. Also has an endless selection of bits for ever...

Breaking through beadrock

This corded 115v Bosh RH 745 has given me the versatility to switch from rotary hammer for drilling that is clutch activated when drilling gets in a bind, to hammer only for chiseling, I can also set the Chisel in different positions for the angle needed. It offers the SDS Max 3/4" quick release chuck, it delivers 8.2 ft/ lbs of impact energy with variable speed that gives me enough muscle to punch through the Bedrock.
