The GKF125CE has an ergonomic palm-grip design with soft-grip to make it very comfortable to hold, making it typically more convenient to use than larger routers. It's far more than a laminate trimmer, as it is the ideal tool for rounding-over deck planks and railings, hinge mortising, decorative edge forming, slot cutting, window cutouts, decorative inlays, laminate trimming and more. The motor features soft-start circuitry, a variable-speed dial and Constant Response circuitry to maintain speed under load. Its PR101 fixed base features macro- and micro-fine depth adjustment and a centerable round subbase for easy guidance. I recently purchased the GKF125CEK Palm Router. I did so because after purchasing a Bosch Circular Saw I thought I would see if all their tools were of such quality. So I purchased a 1617EVS router to install in my router table. It was the smoothest, quietest and best router I had used! Powerful and electronic speed control. Problems with collet and depth adjust
After about 8 months of light use, the collet refuses to come off without mounting the entire thing in a vice and using max force to unscrew it enough to remove a bit. Same with putting it back on. The depth adjustment has somehow created gouges in the aluminum shell and refuses to slide up or down. Sending back to Bosch for repair under their 12 month warranty program.

I'm deducting a star because this clearly was an open box returned item. It's the second time Lowe's has done this to me. The router felt dirty and the parts bag was torn open. I don't know if anything is missing. I think someone only needed to use it once, so they got a freebie at my expense. I'm angry because Lowe's shouldn't sell something like this as new. It isn't new. BOSCH COLT 1.25 HP ROUTER KIT
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this several months ago and it was a good investment. The LED light illuminates the bit, making it easier to follow the cut as it is made. The edge guide is a great plus. And the 1.25 HP motor has plenty of power for this rugged palm router. You can store it neatly in the carrying case that's included in this kit.
