Learn MoreThe Bosch PS42-02 12V Max EC Brushless Impact Driver Kit features a very compact but powerful 1/4 In. hex driver, two 12V Max 2.0 Ah batteries and a charger. The PS42 driver has a 5.5 In. head-length and weighs just 1.6 Lbs., but it is a powerhouse, with an optimized impact system. It also has the Bosch performance control system, which supplies two speed settings, one for high speed and high torque and one for low speed and low torque. This delivers no-load RPM ratings of 0-1,200 and 0-2,600 and no-load impact-per-minute ratings of 0-2,700 and 0-3,100. The drivers produces 975 In.-Lbs. of max torque, great for repetitive driving tasks and about 85 percent of the fastening tasks around the professional jobsite. The tool's EC Brushless motor and improved all-metal gearbox allows for unmatched efficiency, great runtime and longer life. This driver has a 1/4 In. hex drive and a three-LED light ring.

Super lightweight, but not long-lasting
After about 6-8 months of regular professional use, the fitting between battery and tool degraded such that about 1/5 of the time the battery has to be pressed in to get contact and power. This is annoying, and caused me to switch brands. Otherwise, this is a perfect tool for light-to-medium duty. It was an excellent starter tool, and still a great value (in the drill + driver 2-tool combo kit).

Packs a punch in a sub compact form!

A little giant

I am a teacher/educator and overseer of a private school. It is there and at my home and parent’s home where my Bosch tool kicks in. It does it with enough power. Compact Impact Driver

Most shocking!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this thing all because I had the 12v Sawzall and figured it would compliment it and also figured it was to small to really use on anything I have the bigger freak and it does great but this little joker is compact as it gets for impacts and its got the butt behind it completely blowed me away honestly this now gets used more than my poor Ole freak but winning this drill would compliment my freak and grinder which is all Bosch

Great Set Up

I use the Impact Driver for exactly that driving large screws and bolts. The trigger is sensitive enough for small jobs so you can't strip the holes. The size is great for tight areas when you need the strength of a large driver but the small size of an electric screwdriver. This is the tool to use.
