Handy Kit to Have Around

I picked up this installation kit for a project and it had the parts I needed. Everything was easy to work with and the pieces seemed to be decent quality. Having the items together in one pack was convenient and saved me from having to buy everything separately. It’s a handy little kit to keep around for basic installation jobs.

Decent but Not the Best

Worked well when the wall was flat down to the subfloor. Ran into issues with the gap between the dry wall and foundation which would cause the spacer to collapse and not maintain the gap between wall and plank flooring. I ended up purchasing the 1/4" to 1/2" t-spacers that made it way easier to hold the gap especially when starting the first couple rows of flooring.

Functions well just has some irritating issues

Spacers and worked well, the blocks were a little difficult to use though. There was not much space on the surface the mallet would hit to use the wide block and would cause me to hit the ground first or just tore up every rubber mallet I would use. And the metal piece for getting those final end pieces in worked well but the soft padding under the piece that was meant to protect the piece of flooring was not working correctly and so I would continuously scuff and have to clean my flooring after...

Essential kit for DIY flooring install

The shims were essential to add gaps between the wall and floor edges. They were the appropriate size to not just fall over, but keep in place to do their job. The beating block was sturdy enough to last for about 2500 sqft of floor installation. Careful to beat on the side with the lip that contacts the click-in side of the flooring and not the top surface (it will nick and damage the nice finished edge). Kit is Great - Needs a Hammer?

This kit has done everything I've needed it to on my SmartCore 12"x24" LVT 320 square foot install in my kitchen, bath and entry areas. The shims are actually quite good because the interlocking teeth allow two to be stacked to provide good stability and extra thickness if you need it. It doesn't include a hard-faced hammer which you will need in order to use the tapping block and pull bar tools. I purchased this kit to aid in the installation of laminate flooring. For me, the plastic (nylon) block was the most used tool in the kit. It got used as I laid every course of laminate. It's 2-sided; the depth of the flange is different depending on your method of install (tongue into groove, or groove into tongue). It held up well for the 200 square feet of flooring I installed. Bends easy

Only used the tool to install laminate in one 12 by 12 room so far and the end where you strike the tool with the dead blow hammer bent and lays black mark on the floor. It does have a velvet strip under the strike end but when the tool bends, it leaves a mark. The strike end of the tool is not tall enough for the dead blow hammer to hit solid, so it bends it downward to the laminate. The block that comes with the kit is useless. The wedges are handy. Good to get if doing Allen and Roth floors + trick

I thought I'd simply use some cut pieces of flooring for the spacers and a large piece of wood to hammer in my flooring. I'm glad I got this because the Allen and Roth flooring groove system would have been difficult to assemble without it. It was not as simple as click and drop, but I found a "trick" online that is not so intuitive. Place the tongue into the groove and let it sit at an angle. You can't press it flat yet because it first needs to be hammered in at an angle using the rubber wedge...

Inferior materials

I had to return the first one cause the block cracked. Second set the pull bar bent . I had to bend it back to shape . Let’s just say I’ll be returning it and grabbing a 3rd
