AUTO FEED PROBLEM

After a year the auto feed just lets line out constantly. The small plastic retaining pin on the spool housing broke and that's the problem. Just cheap construction.

Newer 140 sucks

Replaced an older B& D with this new model

This is a terrible trimmer compared to my old B&D.. I cant trim more than 30 ft without the cheap plastic handle slipping positions 3 or 4 times. I finally just left the handle in the top position that it finally stopped in and had forearm cramping within in 10 mins. Not a user friendly model at all. Also my old battery had no problem getting through my entire yard with plenty to spare. This new battery barely made it to the end of my yard. Hopefully I can return after 1 use but I have a...

Stopped after one summer.

This is my second weed wacker, first was 20 v and it stopped working after the two year warranty. I purchased this one and used it last summer and it runs for a second and stops. Such a waste of money. I’m very disappointed with it.

Good product ruined by manufacturer

So disappointed. There used to be a trimmer with a button feed for the string. It was the best trimmer I ever had. I bought another one but it was supposed to be automatic feed. Total waste of money. Another example of a company that had a great product but ruined it.

I bought this combo YEARS ago with a B&D 40v chainsaw, a hedge trimmer and two 40v batteries. Still working after TEN YEARS. For the price I paid for these tools, they have been one of the best bargains ever. This year I bought a generic replacement battery which I do not anticipate will last as long as the B&Ds. Black and Decker 40 Volt Trimmer

This trimmer replaced a 20 volt that lasted for more than 10 years. The 40 volt definitely produces more torque and cuts the time to trim our yard almost in half. I love it and am considering getting another for backup🙂.

Motor Melted -- Trimmer Ruined!!

Wife went to use the trimmer this week, yelled that it smelled bad and was smoking! This after about 15 minutes of work. I came out found the head too hot to touch, and the upper vents were deformed from heat. I removed screws holding the head together, found that the motor got so hot that the mounting framework inside the head was melted and deformed. Also looked inside the vents of the motor itself, can see melted white plastic. The thing is RUINED. I cannot turn the motor by hand. It's ...
