not quite what I needed but I was able to make due
The overall unit did not fit in my toilet, however, the piece that I needed was the top (green plastic in the above picture) which I was able to unscrew and use. It appears there's more that one variant of the toilet and that wasn't clear from searching on your website. Also, although the main leak was addressed, it seems to still have a much slower leak which I've not figured out yet.

Constant running
brand new toilet and constantly running. Valve does not seal and ring used to hold rubber seal in place is constantly coming off. Tried replament parts with the same outcome, now will have to purchase and replace the entire toilet.

Defective or not the problem!
The tank to bowl valve did not correct the problem. I believe the leak was caused by a bad gasket under the valve. The gasket was never mentioned by American Standard. Out of frustration we had our plumber install a brand new American Standard toilet in place of the malfunctioning one. Our plumber told us they have had many complaints about our old toilet model that used that particular model valve.

finally figured out the diff between this one and the other that looks ALMOST identical. American Standard web site says this one is for the ONE PIECE toilet. Pls update your product description!
