Bright color in summer heat. These vigorous, low-growing annual succulent plants have thick, fleshy, oval, or needle-like leaves and explode with an abundance of flowers in glowing single colors or bicolors. Purslane performs well in ordinary garden soil and while drought tolerant looks best with regular water. Layer in low in a flower bed for cheerful color or use in containers here, there, or everywhere. Pair with plants that don’t need rich, fertile soil to do their color thing. Grows to 4” to 8” tall and 10” to 12” wide. Thrives in poor soil. Provide full sun. Flowers from spring to frost.
