I think the half slot channel makes for a cleaner installtion

Be mindful where you place mounting screws

Works awesome. Used it to mount a new meter box to tuff rib metal siding instead of cutting the metal siding or using wood that would eventually degrade. Just be mindful of where you place the bolts to mount the actual track. I messed up and put the mounting bolts right where the spring nuts where supposed to go. Doesn't leave enough room with the spring.

Great for RV installs

Makes installation and future maintenance/upgrades of solar on RV's so much easier. Also makes a much more solid mounting platform, I've seen panels mounted with the Z brackets ripped off in strong storms.
