Worse Product
If you need the wood and have a pattern to follow, buy it. If you are NOT savvy on use of wood and have extra wood for re-enforcement, then don't buy it. If you expect the company, United Forest Products to stand by their product, then don't buy it. The package included some wood that needed replacement, appeared to be rotted. The wood says it is treated at the legs, cross over, this is not true in the opinion of me and a Lowe's representative. While preparing it, I matched the legs (supposed...
Pre-Drilled Holes - I Don't Think So!
What should have taken 30 minutes took 3 hours, and a ton of frustration. I relied on the company doing what it said it would - giving me pre-drilled holes in the wood. Sadly, the pre-drilled holes were only done for the 2 cross beams that receive the legs, and even then, the only way the bolts got through those, was with the help of a steel mallet. That left me to make extra driving trips to retrieve my heavy duty cordless drill, wood bits and related tools (my drill press would have made short...
Need to Have Good Assembling Skills
Several previous reviews pointed out that the holes in the legs didn't match the holes in the cross pieces. I found this to be the case when putting this together. I had to redrill holes in the cross pieces after carefully putting spacers (one seat half and the 2 braces were the perfect height) in place to position them next to the legs. Also, two of the seat halves were badly warped. The warping problem could have been resolved with water and pressure but no one wants to do that when they're ...
72" picnic table
I bought something similar to this at another hardware store a few years ago, but wasn't impressed with the assembly process. I really wanted a plastic/metal foldable table but none were available in town and I needed tables now for my business customers. I decided to go with the wood tables again. The Lowes associates were very helpful picking out the best ones, I bought 4. The assembly process had been improved and simplified, some of the pieces came pre-assembled. It took me and one of my emp...
Too much work
Easy to put together. Thought it would be a better grade lumbar and that someone would have taken the time to make cuts that would not leave knotty/ruff wood, I was wrong. You can do a better job picking out lumbar yourself. I'm somewhat OCD when it comes to painting, bc of subpar wood this table takes Too much time to prep and paint. If you really want a picnic table bc of childhood memories like I did, make it yourself. Don't waste time and $$ on this. Wood is warped, knotty, and stamps ...
Small Issues, but Worth It for Price!
The instructions are not the most detailed I've ever had, and we ended up using our own wood screws for better quality, but overall we are totally thrilled with this purchase. Took the two of us pretty-inexperienced carpenters about an hour to put together. We stained it for a more polished look and a bit of protection, and it looks great! Exactly what we were looking for, and cost WAY less than even the cheapest patio furniture.
Nice table for the price
It's very sturdy but isn't as easy to assemble as described. Mine didn't have any pre-drilled holes. You'll need to drill them to get this assembled. Buy better 2.5 inch deck screws. The included screws are pretty low quality and stripped very easily. It isn't treated lumber and did include some knots and marks which will require some sanding. All that said, it's totally worth the effort for a beefy table at a nice price. The finished assembled version of the same table sells else where for ...
Picnic table
I bought this table last year. Wood was completely green. Water seal would not take. Sanded it down and paineed with exterior paint. This year every knot ts bleeding pine sap through the paint. The wood is heavily cracking and the boards are warping. So much so, this table is unusable at least until the wood has seasoned.. Completely dissatisfied with this product. I would never recommend this table to anyone
this is good quality bench for the price
easily held 8 5year olds on the benches and 1 at each end and plenty of cupcakes, icings, and decorations - wood is a little splintery so we put beach towels on the seats and a party table cover on the top - we might finish it with sealer if we find the time but its doing well without it - first one had obvious defects (chunks missing) in the wood visible through the packaging so I didn't leave the store with it - they had to take another down from the rafters - I would recommend to a friend (al...
Terrible!
These tables are impossible to put together. The "predrilled holes" are just dots on the wood and all of the screws were completely stripped before they even made it through the boards. The wood isn't great quality, but I was expecting that. I knew I wasn't getting the best picnic tables, but I at least expected to be able to set them up.
