Where did it all go wrong?

I have been using these 3M sanding pads since 2017. Back then I could sand away for days on end with a single pad. I recommended them to anyone and everyone especially people who needed to work on guitars like me. The pads would fold and shape beautifully to the contours of the wood and their thickness was perfect to hold between your fingers. With this sponge sanding it seems not to end. I did entire dresser with 4 drawers and never had to get a new one. Plus the quality of the sanding didn't change. With it being so easy to grip it won't slip out your hand and you can apply more pressure if needed while sanding.

I feel that the set up is very easy as opposed to traditional sandpaper, it seem to work quite well other than at the end it seem to be a little clogged nothing a little rinsing out couldn’t handle it’s great for A small job but wouldn’t recommend for a major drywall job.
