Ended up wasting my money

I bought this wall plate because I wanted to stain the wood to match other trim. Once it was stained it was obvious that this plate was not made of one solid wood piece, but was pieced together. It suddenly made the plate look very cheap. The reason I gave it two stars is that it is sturdy due to its metal backing. If your plan is to paint this plate, that would work, but I don't recommend it for staining and/or varnishing.

Just what I was looking for!

While updating our home built in the 50's, we decided to replace the mish-mosh of wall plates throughout our home. In the rooms we have tongue and groove paneling, we stained these unfinished wall plates to compliment the colors in the paneling. We purchased a variety of outlet covers, single, double and triple switch.... about 30 in all. Craftsmanship was remarkable on every one of them.

Received ones I had already returned

This is the third time that I received the exact ones I had returned. They are bent and should not be resold. This is absolutely ridiculous of Bellingham lowes.

Finished switch plate

With a couple coats of polyurethane and light sanding they look fantastic!!

Don't over tighten - they will crack/brake.

In a room of tongue/groove - looks great! Being natural wood stain options are limitless.

These seem well-made and are of good quality wood. We stained them to match the trim in our house and then put some polycrylic on them. They look great!

Perfect for our cabin

These covers are perfect in our cabin. I love the metal backing to strengthen them. I plan to take them back down to stain later. They are a little pricier than I was expecting.

Look nice on my wall outlets.

Take stain and finish well. Look nice on my walls. Fit toggle switches well.

DIY

Always prime and then paint color of wall. I don't like receptacles that are plastic or contrast all over the house. This is natural wood that is completely sanded smooth and ready to prime, paint, or stain.
