We visited a large, military/first responder themed, BBQ Chan and saw an opportunity for a chance drawing of the smiling let, “why not?” Entry completed, made our order and put it out of my present mind. On Father’s Day I received a call from a number that I didn’t recognize, so I put on my best “child voice” impression and answered, rapidly switched to talking about my dinosaur collection and my favorite color, and fortunately for me the person who called explained who they were, why they were ...

WSM 18” Cooker
I debated buying a WSM for several years and finally pulled the trigger on the 18” model. I’ve had it for about a month now and used it half a dozen times. I’ve been very happy with the results. I’ll break down my thoughts into the highlights of positives and negatives. First the positives: The food that comes off this thing is excellent. It is a steady, steady cooker. The temps are rock solid for about 6 hours with a full load of briquettes and various wood chunks (I usually use 3 or 4). I...

Advice on the smoky mountain
The smoky mountain is by far the simplest & best smoker one can get for the money. After years of using propane & electric smokers that turned out average results I did my research & started smoking foods on my Weber kettle grill that family & friends raved about. So the next step was to purchase a smoky mountain since purchasing it approximately a month & a half ago I’ve smoked 3 corned beef’s to make pastrami & 4 chickens that friend’s & family have absolutely loved!!! If you’re in the marke...

Simply an Amazing Smoker
If you want to learn the art of smoking over coals, then look no farther than the WSM. It's not quite as set it and forget it as my Searwood, but once you have it dialed in this thing is a BEAST when it comes to smoking. All my cooks have had awesome flavor and it is extremely easy to manage the temperature with.

Worth the investment - so far
This smoker replaces an older one (>15 years) that rusted out. The 18" Weber is larger than my old one, but I plan to smoke full sized briskets and needed the larger size. Assembly of the legs to the charcoal pan required some modification and balancing act, but the remainder was easy. Inserting the rubber gasket for temperature probes was a problem and the gasket tore - but was replaced by Weber quickly. So far, I have only smoked chicken wings and they came out perfect. The guide regarding...

Fantastic smoker
This was a. Upgrade from smoking in a Weber kettle grill. That worked pretty well, but fire management takes some work and I always felt like I was running out of space. The Smokey Mountain has excellent capacity, and I found it much easier to get the temperature stable. Can't wait to use it again!

Very pleased easy use.
For what i paid for this smoker i really cant complain. I picked it up on a clearance sale. I was looking at the 22 inch model instead, but for less then half of the price I went with this one and I am not disappointed. It was well packaged and easy to put together, took about 30 mins with the help of my boy. It was just easier to have a little help. I fired it a couple days later for the first time. I used a chimney starter about half full over a almost full basket of coals, poured in the wa...

Goodby offset smoker
I have used an offset successfully for many years. I watched my buddy use his 14" to smoke a brisket and wow! So I got me an 18" and it is so much more simple. Easy to start, regulate, and clean. Absolutely sold.

Fantastic!
Excellent! Took two cooks to get the hang of it but makes a smoking rookie feel like a pro. In hindsight I should’ve bought the bigger one because of increased demand since the food turns out so good. Turkey, chicken and ribs have been elevated; going to do brisket once the Canadian winter subsides. Highly recommended for novice users who want to get into the smoking game.
