I emptied half the bag near the place where the snake was hiding, the snake lay on this pile and nothing happened. The smell was terrible for me, but not for the snake. I had to catch it and carry it out of the area. I strongly do not recommend it.

Stinks like mothballs for the first few days
We spread this around the house after seeing a copperhead in our carport. It stinks for the first couple of days and made the whole place smell like moth balls, but the smell faded after the first few days. We haven't seen anymore snakes as of yet, so I guess we'll see how the rest of the summer goes.

My husband and i purchase this to put out around our new home because we just purchased a brand new home. And in our backyard there are alot of tress,leaves and other growing things. Well yesterday there were two snakes that came out. I took off running. And also a lizard tried to get into my garage. I took off screaming again. My husband killed them with a shelved. I told him if there are babys then that means their momma is somewhere around. So i guess you can say No.it didn't work for us.
