After numerous attempts to talk to someone at either the manufacturer Utilitech and/or Lowes, I was finally able to reach both parties. Bottom line, neither company really cares. I am making updates to my home. I purchased the 6 pack of these retrofit recessed lights to change my outdated drafty can lights. They came with the brackets and springs and a pack of screws with a few extra screws. You can use either the brackets or the springs to make the lights fit into the recessed can. Absolute Junk

I purchased 30 of these for our Florida home. 6 of them are no longer turning on, and 3 others have broken and fallen out of the cans. The plastic is so brittle and simply breaks over time. Now they have to go into the landfill. What a terrible product and waste of money.

Design problem -- the mounts occasionally melt

I have a 2000 sq ft project that I've installed 26 of these lights into new construction cans rated for 16W LEDs. After a few months, they started just randomly falling out of the ceiling. I have had these installed for about 2 years now, but only 10 months since they've had drywall around them. THAT's when they started failing. Just what I was looking for, but.....

Installation was easy, setting the color temperature was easy, it fit and mounted into the ceiling cans properly, and it functioned properly. This product was headed for a 5 star review EXCEPT for one small but important issue: the very poor quality of the self-tapping screws for mounting one of the internal parts. While assembling the 8 units I bought, the heads of the screws in two of the units broke off while screwing them into PLASTIC! Obviously the screws were made of very cheap and soft me...

If you're looking to turn a 5 minute project into 30 minutes of frustration, this is for you. Instead of having the springs installed, you get to put them on with screws that shear in plastic.

I purchased 6 of these when remodeling our kitchen just 4-5 years ago. One just outright died within a couple of years and another just had the plastic base crack on its own while in my ceiling (I noticed when I heard the metallic sound of the clip hitting the ground and saw my light hanging from the ceiling). Yes, I emailed Lowes@yankon-lighting.com already. No, they did not respond.

I like the light. I ordered the product online. The box one of the lights came in was all torn up and appeared to have been gone through prior to it being shipped to me. Which was less than ideal. The parts were all moved around. Thankfully they were all there. But it was disappointing that that is the one that was chosen to be shipped to me. Seems as though it should have been discounted if that were the case. But I guess that is what happens when you order things online from here.
