Not as advertised

I used it as directed. Turned it on, waited half an hour and then sat on my deck. Put the unit in a variety of places, including right between my ankles. Still was inundated with mosquitoes. Waited an hour, during which I was slapping mosquitoes right and left, and finally got up and went back inside. Will be returning the product tomorrow.

Useless

Since my last review was deleted, don’t waste your money. The device does not work! I used this brand years ago and it was great! This new device is a waste of money! First use and ran 45 mins, sitting right next to it and I got ate up!

Effective DEET-Free Mosquito Protection for the Pa

Really works

This really works. I work out in the yard and hate stinky sprays, plus, I invariably miss a spot. With this I can move it around with me and not get eaten.

Seems to work as advertised

Charged up quickly. Seems to work as advertised. Definitely set them up a few minutes before you plan to be in the area. The beeps for on and off are helpful to know you did it right since the unit is totally quiet. Battery life beeps too. Only complaint is it burns thru the oil stuff pretty quick and refills aren’t real cheap. But made it so we could use our backyard for a party which was great

I’ve had a Thermacell for a while. The last purchase I made was for 18 hrs. (2). I turned it on about an hour before I went outside and, an hour later, have about 10 mosquito bites. This may be good for “lesser” mosquitoes, but for Texas mosquitoes, it just doesn’t work.

Easy to setup and use

Gave it a test run last night and it worked as advertised. We have not been able to enjoy our deck at night due to the mosquitoes and this was the first night that were able to enjoy and use our deck in years at a minimal expense.

Poor unstable design and expensive refills

I found the item very unstable due to the rounded base and for a device designed to be placed on the ground in caravan parks and campgrounds, this is far from an ideal design. Then when it rolls over the very expensive liquid leaks out and as a result, I only got about 8 hours protection from an extremely expensive 40 hour refill. Delivered with missing item

The top part of this product is missing and is unusable. Wish someone noticed before they delivered it.

Watched the magic happen!

I set the Thermacell up in the gazebo at my lake lot. The gazebo already had a fair amount of mosquitoes in it as I had one side completely open for a few hours. After about 10 minutes I could actually see the exodus of mosquitoes from the inside of the gazebo. The occasional one would fly by the gazebo entrance but avoid coming in. One caveat, I did have Off sprayed all over me but when I was doing work outside the gazebo, that didn't ward them off so I doubt it aided in the success of Thermace...
