Not Following Guidelines just documenting shipping

Drill a sizable pilot hole first.

It does bore holes and the bit seems sharp. However the the large bits seem more apt to pld lock in the wood and the drill would whip around trying lunge forward before cutting away enay enough wood to proceed. I am no expert but the bit would"lock" into the wood and instantly spin the drill around. There is a simple fix: Just drill a good-sized pilot hole and the chips seem to have somewhere to go, reducing the bit to "lock" in the wood. When I did that, the bits cut cleanly without issue...

Dulls quickly, low pull, better found on TEMU -IMO

Have the Carbide Hole Saw kit and love it, but these woodboring bits are Boring. Package advertises it can bore wood with nails. My first hole was in test board, bore slow and did a fair amount of rip out on back side. Second hole on job site, hit the edge of a nail - dull, useless, didn't cut through. I re-sharpened the bit, metal seems soft and unhardened to what I'd expect. Maybe they missed a step, First thought maybe Counterfeit, but these were direct Lowe's so on Spyder. Good quality

Price was very good, the only issue was initially I received the wrong item, I returned at store but store would not honor the sale price, I contacted Lowes and they re ordered it for sales price so I had to return to the store to pick it up.

Consider shaft size

Large shaft size is great if you have a drill that can handle it. I was drilling studs so had some tight spaces. Was going to use the larger bit with my right angle cordless drill and the drill chuck wasn't big enough. My fault for not paying attention, but it was a bit of a hassle. I do think they'll last longer. I've had a couple 1/4 in shaft auger bits that bent before.

Dull

Very dull bits. Almost no cutting edge to them, and the screw wants to pull the bit into the wood faster than it can cut. All the edges feel rough and unfinished, making the overall feel very cheap. Will be returning.

Excellent boring bit set

Needed to expand my drill bit selection and wanted to add to my spade bit collection. These power spade bits are super sharp, help keep the holes more even and carry the most sizes that I need. Very happy with my purchase.

OK auger bits; BUT confusion over shank size

Good bits for drilling lumber. OK for drilling into stumps, but for that task longer augers are better. One big problem: it didn't specify the shank size anywhere in product description! I didn't notice that they won't directly fit into a standard 1/4" impact driver shank. They work in a 1/2" drill chuck - assuming your drill has enough torque (and structural strength) to pull them out. Broke the bolt my non-XTR Kobalt drill on the first day! Don’t work with 7/16 shank

These will not work with a 7/16 shank even though that is what they are made for. I tried putting both the 3/4 and 1 inch ones into my Milwaukee hole hawg and neither would work. I compared them to other 7/16 shank bits that I have and found out why. The edges on these are rounded where normal shank bits come to a point.
