This home safe, fireproof and waterproof, protects what matters even while critical time passes, the temperature climbs and emergency crews make their way to the scene. It doesn’t take much time to learn the value of rigorous fire testing; a house fire can reach more than 1,100 °F in just 3.5 minutes. This home safe is UL Classified to protect valuables for 1 hour at 1700° and ETL verified to protect digital media for 1 hour. Additional water protection (ETL verified for 5 inches for 24 hours) means the safe can withstand not only flames and extreme heat, but also the water or fire retardant that will extinguish it. It also means the fireproof safe can be bolted down in the basement, limiting any water risks. Basement placement is popular because it means the fireproof safe won’t fall from higher levels in the event of structural collapse, and the bolt down kit makes it possible to store safe almost anywhere. The newly designed bolt down kit maintains the integrity of the safe’s water protection. The metal handles are easy to operate, and the safe door audibly confirms when it’s closed. The key hooks and door pocket make it easy to find belongings in an emergency. Lithium batteries are included, giving a 5+ year lifespan.

Elegant Super Safe for my purposes
Based on receiving it, "installing it", and having it for a month, this 100% serves my purposes. First, be warned and be prepared, it is VERY heavy when delivered to your front porch or door. By sliding it on an open carton, I was able to get it to my pretty secretive location. The controls work very well. Mine is in a location where I cannot stand right into front. Very happy with purchase
Hasn't been through a fire or a flood but very easy to operate. I thought the XL looked really big in the box. Got a large size instead. It is big enough for the documents and items we wanted to secure and size is adequate. Doesn't take up too much space in the closet where it is located.

Does the job well
I Liked pretty much everything about this safe. It's about the max weight you could put on a closet shelf at 55 lbs empty. Both the key entry and combo entry worked flawlessly. Their is not a great deal of space inside BUT the movable shelf helps as does the fact that it is a 1 hour fireproof rated box.I liked the little light that comes on when you open the door. So far so good, one questionable design choice
No issues thus far. Hope to never truly test the fire rating. Build wise, the pull lever gives the impression (at the least) of fragility as it’s attached to a soft wire/string that’s under tension to control the opening mechanism. Lots of audible noises when pulling is concerning. Questionable design choice as I don’t know how one would open if it snapped.

Flawed safe
Great little safe, but there are a few flaws. There are two battery compartments, the man one being inside the safe itself. That's fine and dandy as there is a backup battery compartment on the outside. The flaw of the outside compartment is that the battery itself can't be stored inside the housing, the battery is left to dangle until the inside main batteries are replaced. Flawed but decent safe
There are nice features to the safe such as a keypad that lights up, interior light, and a sounding beep when you close the door. However I dislike the battery compartment placement being inside the safe itself. The door handle to open the safe uses a cable that I can see snaping overtime due to use and the backup battery which is outside of the safe if you had to use is anything but ideal as the battery is left dangling because it can't fit into the battery housing.
