I've been using Scotts Southern Gold coated seed for years to overseed my lawn in the fall. Last year I had used a different brand that my neighbor had given me because he had a lot extra, with limited success so wanted to get back to what I knew worked. So I bought this product. After preparing my lawn (core aerating the entire lawn & dethatching some of the brown sections) I was ready to spread this seed. Turns out this is not just seed but contains "Root-Building Nutrition" granules added in....

The seed was easy to spread and came up fast and the entire back yard now had great looking grass, and I was now the one bragging about my dark green grass and no more paying a yard contractor to take my money and never see Dark Green beautiful yard!!

Brand New Lawn Southern Gold with Fertilizer

This seed works really well on our lawn
I bought Scotts Southern Gold two years ago, and then again this year. In the Fall we usually have a thin lawn due to drought during the Summer. The water costs around here are really high in the Summer. I used Southern Gold to reseed, and to start a new patch of grass that was totally bare.
