Item #113214 |
Model #99610
Grubs and other listed insects can do extensive damage to lawns by feeding on grass roots. Damaged turf turns brown and is easily pulled up by hand. Prevent turf damage with Scotts® GrubEx®1 Season Long Grub Killer. A single application of this granular insecticide can kill and prevent grubs for up to 4 months. This grub killer also kills caterpillars (armyworm), chinchbugs, May/June beetles, and more (as listed), and can help control Japanese beetle infestations when applied annually. Apply Scotts® GrubEx®1 Season Long Grub Killer to a dry lawn in the spring or early summer to kill grubs as they develop. We recommend using a Scotts® spreader to apply this product. For Scotts® broadcast/rotary spreaders, use a setting of 3 ½. For Scotts® drop spreaders, use a setting of 5 ½. For Scotts® Wizz®, use a setting of 3 ¾. Water in thoroughly to activate. People and pets may re-enter the lawn after it has dried. The maximum number of applications for this product is one per year. One 28.7 lb. bag of Scotts® GrubEx®1 Season Long Grub Killer covers 10,000 sq. ft.

Grubs gone and moles no longer digging up my yard
This not only works on grub control! I use GrubEx to keep the moles from digging up the yard. I’m convinced the pesticide is an irritant to those pesky moles!

Great Results – No More Grubs or Moles!
I applied Scotts GrubEx to my lawn in mid-May, followed the directions carefully (used a broadcast spreader and watered it in), and within a couple of weeks, I started seeing results. The patchy areas from grub damage started recovering, and I haven’t noticed any more mole tunnels since. This product really works if you apply it at the right time of year. What I really like is that it only needs to be applied once a season, and it doesn’t harm beneficial insects like bees. It’s made with chlora...

We have a small yard at our house. I looked on line to find a product that would kill the grubs that are turning our lawn brown in spots. I purchased this product 3 different times and the final time I hand placed this product directly over each brown spot. It does not work.

Prematurely Ran out of product
I bought a bag of GrubEx and the bag says it will cover 5000sq ft. Using my recently calibrated Scotts drop 2000 I set it at 5 instead of the recommended 5 1/2 since my spreader is several years old and I used this product last year and had the same problem. I used the entire bag on no more then 3000 sq ft. My front yard is 2500 sq ft and at 5 1/2 I barely covered the front.

Easy Application
Easy to apply, with no mess via spreader. I applied this two weeks ago under some turf where I saw significant nettle activity and not wanting all this nice shoots eaten away by grubs. Two weeks on I’ve seen no more activity and the lawn areas freshly laid remain green and lush. It does remain to be seen if this lasts as long as indicated though.

Work as described but not great for large lawns.
Its does what it says it does, professional grade grub killers are much more cost effective for large areas. If you have a small yard this is great. This is about the best grub control at the big box stores. If you have a really large yard you would be better off going to a landscaping supply company.
