Product is made incorrectly

The slot should be turned 90 degrees from the way it is. That is across the width of the hinge not along the length. These are used quite frequently on trailer gates where the trailer gates are hinged to the trailer bed. When closed, the gate is secured between the two side walls of the trailer. The male part of the hasp (swivel in this case) is mounted to the gate and the hinged hasp is mounted to the trailer wall. Not very sturdy

It wasn’t very sturdy and bent when my animals jumped on the gate

door latch

I have had a door on a barn missing a latch for years. It was always a hassle closing the door and keeping it closed. I bought the latch for almost nothing, and installed it in 10 minutes, problem solved. I can't believe I went as long as I did with out a latch on door.

Sturdy, galvanized

Hasp is well-built and appears to have a quality galvanized treatment. My only criticism of this product: out of the package, the swivel hasp is very hard to swivel. I pressured-in some bearing grease into the swivel compartment and worked the swivel back/forth several times and it works easily now. But, the consumer should not have to do this, rather, it should come pre-greased.
