What Customers Are Saying
The product offers a large capacity and effective cleaning performance, but some customers report issues with noise, unbalanced loads, and mechanical failures. While the variety of wash cycles and smart features are appreciated, the reliability and noise level appear to be areas for potential improvement.

I bought Maytag model MVW7230HC1 16 mos ago and I hate it. When starting a new load, hardly any water is released I the tub but the agitator starts and a washing cycle begins with hardly any water. It’s not cleaning my laundry… how can it without water! I can’t lift the lid if I want to without canceling the whole cycle and wasting detergent I just put in. The sensor on this machine is not acceptable! The agitator doesn’t move clothes around at all. I hate this machine. I wish I had never ...

Great Washer, Very Happy So Far
If you're trying to make a purchasing decision based on these reviews, please read this! It looks like almost all of the positive reviews of this machine are from paid promotions and all the negative ones are unpaid/organic, so I wanted to take a minute to share my perspective, first impressions, and thoughts on other reviews. I was on the fence about this unit due to the negative comments, but decided to purchase anyway. We just had our unit installed a few days ago and bought the matching dry...

I miss my 23 year old washer, but this will do too
So my Kirkland/WP washer of 23 years, only 3 repairs in that time died due to basket seal leakage that totally rusted out the inner shaft, bearings, and drive basket brake, making it too expensive and difficult to find replacement parts to continue with repairs. Insert moment of sobbing and silence. I turned to the local appliance parts store guy who’d been advising me many times not to get rid of the old washer, gave me a recommendation of his top two choices (Speed Queen commercial (not the c...

Read the fine print on the warranty. It is not 10
Just barley past my 2 year warrenty. Everything is going crazy. It won't agitate correctly, it is stuck in sensing mode and no matter what I set the water level to it feels all the way up . I have replaced the slip gear and the clutch hoping that was it but now im thinking its a weight sensing problem. If this doesn't get fixed soon ill never by another maytag

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It always rips up our towels and some t shirts. We put it on the towel setting, but still rips up the towels. This is the second washing machine in less than 10 years. I always loved Maytag because they were built well and made to last. Not anymore so unfortunately the next machine will be another brand

Unbelievably Terrible Features!
I am so sorry I purchased this washer. It seemed like it had a lot of positive reviews and to be honest, I liked the water spout feature. However, when you use the water spout, the washer will drain all of the water before it begins the cycle. So you loose all of your soap and waste that water. The main reason that I am writing this review is to alert everyone that I also had to have my control panel replaced. I purchased the washer on February 15, 2025. It was replaced June 10, 2025. Thank ...

Buyers Remorse - very disappointing purchase
We bought this washer and the matching dryer (#MED7230HW3) Feb. 2024 and it is the most disappointing appliance purchase I have ever made. We had a Kenmore set that lasted 20+ years, a Whirlpool Duet set that lasted about 14 years and what a mistake this purchase was! The washer takes forever to do a load of laundry is annoyingly loud and many times my clothes come out with dry spots and twisted in knots. I wanted a top load with aggitator to avoid twisted clothing...so disappointing. The dr...

Self Destructive "Washer"
Massive piece of junk, this "washer" is systematicly destroying its self. Between the inlet valve hammering, the agitator ratcheting, and the poor load balance sensor. I spend almost as much time with my arms in the washer as the dang thing washes clothes. I've owned it for less than 3 years and I'm already replacing inlets valves, even tried to run a re-cal on the washer to get the water back up to flow. Worked for a wash, and then started flowing really slow again. Looks like the solenoids are...

Error Code, Filling Issues, Machine Squeals, Leak.
Water Fill Pump issue, sporadic fill. Restarted often to make it work. Small water leak also detected. Squealing noises during cylinder spin and rotation. Rinse phase no issues. This washing machine is only 6 years old and is starting to fall apart. I understand there is no official recall on this unit. We will no longer purchase a Maytag, the current washing machine will be junked and replaced this week.

Do NOT buy this!!!
If I could give this zero stars I would. This washer has been the worst appliance I have ever bought. We replaced the older version we had for a little over 3 years with this. I would have never expected a product like this. For starters it is loud, there is grinding when the wash switches cycles from wash to rinse to fill constantly. The normal wash overfills making the load too heavy and unable to wash. That starts an hours long process of separating soaking wet clothes into small loads to try...
