Air control is very limited, why!? (louver)
Installation went pretty easily, the special valves are so amazing! Seems hard to mess that part up. However, I'm extremely disappointed with at least one thing: You can't point the air flow where you want. What if I don't want the warm air pointing down? Too bad, they don't let you. This is the epitome of why modern appliances are so incredibly frustrating. Just let me do what I WANT!

Poor Quality / Bad Warranty
Purchased an 18k diy system and the head unit failed at 2 years. I have had a service plan since we installed it and it was professionally cleaned and checked twice a year. When the air handler coil blew out I lost all refrigerant due to that failure. Customer service is not helpful and although Mr Cool is sending a new air handler, I will be out $1000 with shipping costs and to have a tech come out and charge up the system that's supposed to be DIY! Easy Install, Great Performance
The instructions, along with many available DIY 'How-To' videos make installation relatively easy. It would be an improvement if they offered an option to purchase this unit with a shorter line set than the 25' line set that comes with it. I ended up breaking the 25' line set as I was trying to coil and manipulate the extra feet of line set that I didn't need. Mr Cool 18000 BTU 5th generation mini split system
The Mr Cool 18,000 BTU mini split system 5th generation system is working great. I was able to install it myself with the included step by step instructions. I also went with the Mr Cool line cover plates to protect the lines but to also give it a clean finished look.

This is the perfect addition to my "she shed". My space is above a two story garage and is well insulated. We expect the heat will work as well as the AC here in N NH. The unit is nice and quite and offers a lot of options.
