Big Fan of the Caseta Series Lights

I'm a big fan of the Lutron Caseta series lighting. I have been using home automation for some time and some of the brands are janky and hard to configure, I like that this is a name brand and also supports the remote switches. Very compatible and flexible options. Well made too, you can't go wrong.

Caseta Switches- Why so confusing

Luton Caseta Manufactures a wide variety of useful wirelessly connected switches. But the product line is remarkably confusing and difficult to browse through. For instance, why are therefore “PICO” Remotes that appear similar on the surface, but have different applications. Why is it not obvious which of these switches include wall mounts and which do ? Who would actually choose to buy one of these switches and not need the wall mount? But the customer must spend an exceeding amount of time ...

Worked for a week

I'm in a situation with space and needed a flush mount light switch without needing the neutral. This one barely fits and it only worked for 1 week. returning today for a refund. Also when the pull chain for the fan is pulled the LED lights bling and it's almost impossible to get both to work at the same time.

works great I really like it

These are really nice. I don't use the app beyond the initial setup or google/apple assistants but have added "scene remote" which is *really* cool, and a motion sensor for the front porch. Also set up timer schedules which is great. The timer program can work around sunset/rise for your area in addition to wall clock. Have not had any issues with reliability, they work as consistently as a regular light switch. Does not need internet to work. I put the controller in a data rack in the basement ...

Good switch

This is a great light switch. However, the only problem is, you cannot preset a favorite setting without having the remote that has the favorite button. When you turn the switch on it goes full bright but I quickly hit the dim button to stop it from getting there. The two remotes available are the standard and the one with the favorite button. Only the favorite button lets you do a preset. Very easy to pair remotes if you decide to add a remote.

Poor Design for Basic Remote Dimming

Instead of adding smart features to the long-running Maestro IR dimmer with remote, which has now been discontinued, Lutron has come up with a poorer design in the Caseta that makes it difficult to dim lights. Unlimited flexability

I have multi gang boxes that are too crowded to fit the switches. Moving the main switch to the other end of a 3way and using a Pico removes the wiring congestion. In the kitchen i needed to add an outlet to the existing 4 Gang box surround by tille again i took one of the 3 way circuits and moved the main to the other end of the circuit installed a 5 gang faceplate i added the outlet and used a pico into the extra opening or having to do any work that traditionally would have required cutting ...

Nice dimmer but it's not a 3-way replacement

The Caseta dimmer has good functionality and has a nice appearance. I'm not very satisfied that you have to use a pico remote and wall-plate adapter to replace standard 3-way operation. For $60+, the device should have enough intelligence to be provided with an additional terminal for configuration with a standard 3-way switch as well. All it would take is a little extra factory programming to monitor the voltage on each terminal and make On/Off decisions based on that. There are cases where...

Is it worth the trade off for easy dimming?

The dimmers work fine, pairs with the pico remote great (though I couldn't figure out how to do it without downloading the app to my phone and without using the smart hub), but my biggest gripe is that there is no preset button. It honestly is driving me mad to have to tap a million times to get the right dimness setting where I previously just used a slider. I honestly may be changing this out and returning it.
