These LED fixtures are a breeze to install (I did 10 in the basement). They are replacement for a decrepit kluge consisting of a 2-bulb florescent unit fit for a garage, which had been screwed to the joists and 'tin-foil' used to provide a reflector [installed by a prior owner in an obvious beer & pizza, brother-in-law operation], then a translucent 2X4 panel inserted in the drop-ceiling. OK for the price
The good. Low power consumption. It's brighter than I expected. The box is thinner can be mounted where clearance is an issue like above garage door. The not so good. The box is flimsy due to very thin metal use. Mounting holes are not spaces to march standard construction spacing 12, 16 or 24 on center.

Works great in my basement!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I replaced an existing light fixture in my basement with the Prismatic Lens Lay- In LED Troffer from Lithonia Lighting. This one is seems like it will last a long time. It is much brighter than my old fixture. It was easy to install, but I didn't see much instructions for the wiring.I had to Google it. I like that the bulbs light right away unlike my old fluorescent lights. I will look into upgrading all of my lights in the future.

Great lighting

Has a very nice sleek look and works well newly finished garage. Best part is that it's energy efficient! I would like to get another one for our basements kitchenette area once we redo it. No More buzz!
We have had fluorescent lighting in our kitchen since before we bought the house. I hate it, I can hear the buzz and they have to warm up, they flicker and so on. The buzz and whine is the worst. We just bought one LED troffer to replace one of the fluorescent ones, and the difference is phenomenal! The LED troffer is brighter and silent! With the plus of LED being less expensive, I can hardly wait to replace the other Troffer!! Fantastic!!!

Exactly what I needed

We just had a single light bulb fixture for light in our garage and it was so dark we needed a flashlight to find things. Since installing this, it's so much more convenient to go get things out of the garage. My husband said it wasn't hard to install. He is not a professional, just a do it your selfer.

great price and simple to install
i had older tube lights in my drop ceiling, these came complete and took minutes to swap and needed nothing more than a pair of cutters & screw driver to install. the light is brighter and better for reading in our office. uses substantially less electric too. highly recommend using these. FYI: they are NOT dimmable, if you want to dim, do not buy these.
