The Kobalt 24V Power Head (KMH 1024-03) provides the power to all Kobalt Universal Connect attachments: Edger (KEG 1040-03), String Trimmer (KMS 1040-03), Pole Saw (KMPS 1040-03), Pole Hedge (KMPH 1040-03), Dethatcher (KMD 1040-03), Brush Cutter (KMB 1040-03), Snow Shovel (KSS 1040-03). The Kobalt 24V Power Head can also be the power source for the following brands attachments; TrimmerPlus, Ryobi, De Walt, TORO and WORX. Backed by Kobalt's 5 year limited warranty for peace of mind.

This can be a replacement for a 25cc gas powerhead

Pros: As powerful as my 25cc Craftsman Power Head. I used speed 1 for weed whacking St Augustine grass and speed 2 for edging and blower. Power head worked with all my Trimmer Plus attachments. Battery Life using the 24v 4Ah battery was better than expected. I was able to do .25 acre lot with fencing and drive way with weed whacking, edging and some blower on 1 battery! If you plan to use a blower attachment for extended period of time then you will need 2 batteries. Worked in over 90 degree we...

Works great for managing my yard. Doesn't get bogged down when using a string trimmer or edger attachment. Because it's universal connect, I was able to reuse all of the old attachments I already owned. One 4ah battery was enough to trim a large part of my yard with the string trimmer. When edging my driveway and curb, I used one full 4ah battery and about half of another. I'm sure it's not a tool that a professional yard/landscape company would use, but it's perfect for use at home.

winding it is not easy

winding the head after it runs out of wire is horrible! you follow the directions and it won't release wire when you tap it. I have to wind and rewind mutilple times per use. Bad design!

I already have 24 volt Kobalt tools, so this made the most sense. But had to get a brush for my turf elsewhere. You missed the mark Lowe's I had to get a Ryobi power broom head from your competitor.
