See my review of the base cabinet for why and how I bought this combo when I was looking for the Craftsman S2000 Premium boxes. This top chest has 3 advantages over the Craftsman S2000 Premium tool chest. First: It is 20" deep instead of 18", so it has more cubic storage space. Second, It costs less than the S2000 premium, even when that box is on sale. Finally all of the drawers are full width instead of having 1 wide drawer and 1 narrow drawer at each height. That can be a disadvantage too as...

I have been eyeing a tool storage unit for some time and finally did it . Love the soft close doors, love the liners that will prevent scratching, the surface. The capacity is significant so much so that my wife has two designated draws ( even bought a 16 oz. Hammer to start her tool collection. The unit is sturdy.

Kobalt 41" top box

Would Recommend

Top box was purchased with the bottom box for a complete unit. This has exceeded my expectations! The top box was damage free and well packaged. Power strip is a plus for charging your power tools batteries and the USB is nice if your phone is running low. The drawers are all soft close and come with liners. I would purchase this again and I may well have too as the tool collection is getting out of hand!

I originally ordered the craftsman but when I went to pick it up I wasn't impressed. The Kobalt is way more sturdy. I've been using it daily now for a couple months and I love it.

Overall good quality. One of the drawer slides does not funtion quite right, but is still useable so a Four-Star for that reason. I have not yet taken time to attempt to see if it is an easy fix... I was concerned about shipping due to reviews of a similar, smaller tool chest. However, the chest was packaged well and recieved without damage. Coordination should have been provided between me and the delivery driver as this was a large, bulky package and he did NOT have any delivery instructio...
