What Customers Are Saying
The product received mixed reviews. Some found it effective for light-duty tasks, while many reported issues with accuracy and reliability, such as the wrench not clicking or providing the expected torque, leading to damaged parts. The packaging and case design also drew heavy criticism, with customers struggling to access the wrench without damaging the case. The product may be suitable for basic, occasional use, but is not recommended for critical applications or heavy-duty work requiring precision and reliability.

This 1/4” drive torque wrench has the smallest drive head and has a great range of inch pounds. The sales assistant, his name is Curtis was the most helpful sales assistant I’ve ever met.
3/8 Tq Wrench
I bought this exact 3/8 drive torque wrench on sale a couple of years ago and it's been a welcome and reliable addition to my tool box. It has a very audible and haptic click when I've reached my set torque value. No complaints so far!
Odd storage case, loose part inside
- To open the case, I read Kobalt's reply to the reviewer who could not figure out how to pop the plastic rivet without destroying the clear plastic cover - Once opened, I turned the case upside down to try to get the wrench out. The wrench did not come out, but a small circlip did fall out onto the bench. - I carefully pried the wrench out of the case and looked for any place a circlip might have come from. - There is a small, black pin that holds the ratchet head to the handle (or perhaps i...
Perfect for small bolts in truck engine
Perfect for a precise option for very low torque values.
Nice little wrench for light duty
First off, for those of you who couldn't get the wrench out without destroying everything, please retire your tools and hire a mechanic. Had the wrench out in seconds and didn't damage anything. Here is a little tip, slice the top of the black pin and push the rest in, slide cover comes right off, and then if you can't get your sausage fingers into the case to get it out there is another tool called a screw driver that pops the wrench out with zero effort. Ok, so as far as the tool goes . It's g...
the scale is hard to read and the collar doesn't line up with the intersection where the torque number line intersects the vertical line like other torque wrenches. it's very easy to make this not clique so attention is required to make sure the handle is properly positioned with no pressure on it before tightening. when it does clique its noticeable. My money would have been better applied to a quality torque wrench that does 5 to 75 ft lbs, or if I needed something that could measure under 5...
Great deal at $55
No plastic parts, all metal construction. This wrench was purchased to replace an old and defective craftsman wrench. I've always like Kobalt tools and gave this one a try. I was reading the reviews and found some of them hilarious and others informative. Unlike some, I had no trouble getting the box open and pulling out the wrench. I intend to keep the wrench in the box when not in use. I tested the wrench and it works. The torque wrench is new so I can't comment on its longevity. It will...
Hey, Mongo. We're glad you did research and chose our projects to buy. We thank you for your review and patronage!

Can't be opened without destroying the case
Can't find a way to open it without destroying the case. Taught myself to solve a Rubik's cube when I was 12. (best time under a minute) But I'm not ready to make this case my new conquest/hobby. Yes I can get it out, but only if I break the case. The case is designed for the thieves that try to steal tools. Whereas they've made no effort whatsoever to accommodate the customer who actually buys this product. There's a screw with a rounded head, and a "K" stamped on the top surface where you woul...
Hi Bill, a small flat-head screwdriver should be able to slide under the clear cover near the security pin you mentioned and can be used to pop the p...

Will brake bolts nothing is right
I have tested this ratchet and used it to perform on all the change and all it did was break bolts off into the engine, tested the ratchet, and it does not have any accuracy
Hi Jake, thank you for taking the time to provide your valued feedback. We will include your input when reviewing potential design improvements for t...

Perfect tool
I bought this to help tighten my brake caliper slide pins and brake caliper brackets so they weren’t over tightened and everything to to specs. It’s got a long Handel to help get the bolts tightened at higher torque specs. It’s easy to use and works perfectly.
