Polisher Broke TWICE

I bought this kobalt DA polisher. I had batteries for kobalt so I thought I’d give it a try. The head unit broke 15 minutes into polishing. I then went to go get a replacement. The replacement broke 20 minutes into polishing. Build quality is horrible on this thing. It worked great when it worked. But due to that head piece always breaking, I never got a third one

Worked for a week

Worked great when it worked. I am on my 3rd one in two months. The head comes loose internally not the pad. Luckily it didn’t do much damage. The folks at the local store great and gave no issues with a replacement but I certainly wouldn’t buy this model again. This is the only Kobalt tool that I have had troubles with. Hopefully it is just a bad batch of them and the one I got today is not from that batch!

Broke 2nd use

Have owned the buffer for less than 1yr. Used it one time to buff my boat the next time out of the box it broke in the first ten minutes. Slop in the head of the unit that holds the balancer and ultimately the pad. Feels like the gears aren’t engaging now due to play in the unit. Compared it to a new unit at Lowes and sure enough the new one is much tighter. Lowes cS rep was less than helpful. She found the purchase history in the system and told me to go home and call Kobalt and make a claim, s...

its good

first time using one, it is good to use simple was using it for about 3 to 4 hrs zero issues, the only thing is i wish the top wasnt to beefy couldnt get in corners of my wheels but overall its a good cordless polisher

Disappointing

I’ve had two of these polishers, the first one broke and the second was the replacement that also broke. I do detailing on the side and perhaps part of the problem is that I use my polishers more often than the average DIYer. This polisher is fine for applying wax, but it not powerful enough to do real paint correction. I’m concerned that I had two of these break so quickly in the same fashion and could not recommend them. Props to Lowe’s for the easy return though!

Easy to use

Used in my boat to polish the inside and out. It is a 23 foot Carolina skiff so it was a large task. It worked great.

Awesome buffer, great price.

In my opinion, it works great for waxing cars, and minor paint correction/ restoration work. I'm very happy with this buffer. I also feel it is built very well. I use the 4ah battery, and it lasts for buffering the entire vehicle. Keep up the good work Kobalt. You will have a great line of power tools.
