The best part about this file is the rough cutting edge on one side and the fine finish edge on the other side. All I had to do was then strop the cutting edge of my ax and out into the wood I went

Metal Mil File 10 inch

I have purchased these files before, and I find they a sharp in the beginning, however, after repeated use (and place in a protective cover) they eventually dull. I still have some of my grandfather's files and they aren't the sharpest but the still get the job done. The Kobalt file stays sharp for only a couple of years. I am just a home owner, who does his own handyman jobs.

Useful and Necessary

First time homeowner here. I own basic tools and supplies, so this was an addition to my expanding tool kit of useful and necessary items to take care of my home. It is very solid, and will last me a lifetime. I used it to sand the edge boor of my door.

This thing would have a hard time at filing hard butter. A cheap import from the ChiCom freight store would be better.
