Calling this pool acid is from a liars paradise. It’s about as weak as it gets. I doubt it even matches its claimed content of 14.5% as it takes roughly 3 times the amount as a 31% acid. Save your money.

It's acid. It changes the pH... Like most things, you shouldn't abuse it or it can mess you up. Be gentle, use it how it's intended, wear protection, and you'll be safe for years to come. Don't do it the right way? You risk everything.

Good product

Good for lowering pool water pH. Note that the percentage of acid may be half of what you would get in a product from a pool store, so you need to add twice as much. The good thing is the low percentage of acid gives off less fumes which can be dangerous.

Keeps pH levels normal and prevents calcification

Due to multiple pumps and water features running constantly, pH levels can get consistently high after just a few days. Using KemTek Muriatic Acid keeps pH down to normal levels and prevents calcification along the tiles at the water line. This is especially challenging due to the extremely hard water we have here in Santa Clarita.

Gets the job done.

This product worked as described, was affordable, and the packaging wasn't terrible to work with. Our pool pH was a little high, so we needed to bring it down. This worked as described and got us where we needed to be.

This is a cleaner and pvc glue and should not cost $17.50. Way to pricey, couldn't fine the small cleaner and glue.

Half the acid for the same price

I use this acid to lower the pH in my pool after chlorine treatments and go through about one bottle a month. This used to be my favorite brand because it was affordable and easy to pick up at Lowe’s. You just had to watch out for leaky boxes. They fixed the packaging, but unfortunately they also reduced the concentration of active ingredient by more than 50%, from 31.45% to 14.5%. That effectively doubles the cost for the same result. Since the water quality is sooooo poor in SoCal we use a lot of acid in our pool

Too weak for pool use

This item is not the 31% needed to maintain pH in a swimming pool! I used to purchase the 31% version at Lowes for about $18 for the (2), 1 gallon jug box. You'd need to use twice as much of this strength for the same effectiveness, cost over $30. Lowes should go back to carrying the 31% strength.

Concentration is only 14.5% for the price

Be aware you are only getting 1/2 the normal muriatic acid 14.5% vs 30% professional grade for 33% cheaper
