I acquired the Jorgensen "Pocket Rasp Plane" with a specific job in mind.. I am in the process of renovating my home - a 1945 pier and beam farm house that happens to have lots of solid wood room doors and cabinet doors that stick and don't close properly, due to age, and the fact that the home had been moved from its original location. The product packaging says it is ideal for drywall, PVC, cement board, and wood, so it fit the bill for what I needed. The product fit my hand well - not to...
Handy little plane
I received this product for free in order to provide an honest review. I chose this product because we didn’t have a pocket size plane and I felt it could be very useful for woodworking projects. We used this on a project where we used old weathered wood to make a sort of box/holder for a propane tank in the back of our pickup. Some of the pieces needed to be glued together but in order for the glue to hold, we had to get rid of the weathering. This plane worked marvelously for that. Its small s...
The Incredible Jorgensen Pocket Rasp Plane!
The Jorgensen Pocket Rasp Plane is so efficient and very easy to use! The razor sharp teeth allow me to smoothly transform my wood work into an extremely smooth end product! The Jorgensen Pocket Rasp Plane is equipped with a easy tool free Blade Change. Just twist the dial, remove the Blade and insert the new one. The Jorgensen Pocket Rasp Plane has the sturdy Zinc Allow Body which makes it very durable and is comfortable to hold while I finish my work. The Jorgensen Pocket Rasp Plane can not ...
A handy tool that every Homeowner should own.
I chose this handy pocket rasp to replace one that my son borrowed. The Jorgensen "Pocket Rasp Plane" is a tool that is inexpensive, easy to use, and should be in every handy person’s toolbox. It is indispensable for installing drywall to remove rough edges and insure a tight fit. It is also useful for smoothing the edges of boards or laminates. The blade can be easily removed or replaced by simply turning the knob on the rear counterclockwise to loosen. The blade can also be removed and turned ...
Nice tool for the toolbox
Works great. I used it on drywall to remove some of the paper ”flakes" after removing old tile. Worked perfectly. Heavy and high quality.

Great little tool
I have used a full-sized plane to help clean out drywall holes for years. It never fit well into wall openings and so was usually awkward to use. I finally decided to get a companion six inch in a size that made more sense. This one is nice and should work great. It has a much shorter shoe so I think it will be more maneuverable. It has, like the larger one, standard refills so I can get more use out of the frame than just drywall. These work well on other materials, especial rigid foam and incl...
Jorgensen Hand Rasp
This is a great rasp. The blade is very sharp and will cut through your work in a hurry. I was surprised at how well it cuts and it leaves a nice finish. A bonus that I never thought about was trimming sheetrock so I tried it on a piece and was very pleased at how well it trimmed up a piece of sheetrock. I particularly like the thumb screw on the back to easily remove or replace the blade when and if it ever gets worn out. Be sure to remove the shavings as you go because it will definitely fill ...

Great little rasp
I have a couple of these great little rasps. This might become my favorite. I like that you can change the blade or turn it upside down if you're more used to going up or down while rasping. I almost always use these types of rasps for drywall. Sometimes that's 16th or 8th of an inch can make it a lot easier to install. Little cutout bumps while you're cutting drywall can be a hassle but with a nice rasp in your tool belt it can really help.
Jorgensen Pocket Rasp Plane Not Bad
Taking the unit off the cardboard took some doing. After removing the rasp plane and having to reattach it back on the metal holder took some time. Once you get use to it, it becomes easier to do. The pocket rasp plane is easy to use and accomplishes what it is supposed to do easily and beautifully. Knowing that you change the blade instead of having to buy a whole new unit is nice to know and saves money. Not bad!
