Manual Error? Baffle Removable?
During the selection process I selected a large capacity, top of the line garbage disposal. Instead my builder installed a Badger 5XP. I suspect it was the cheapest option. I am very disappointed. It clogs with minimal scraps, i.e. small amount of potato or carrot peelings. In addition, the baffle is not removable UNLESS YOU DISASSEMBLE the entire disposal unit. Others have complained about this very bad design made worse by a manual that says it is removable on page 2! This is VERY MISLEA...

We had this same name brand for over 15 years until we needed a new one. Since we never had a problem with it we got the exact same one again!

Very confusing ordering processs
The product is excellent. Ordering the product is not. I ordered the product and specified delivery. As I was completing checkout, the website encouraged me to include a new gasket seal, which I did. The product was delivered as specified. The gasket seal was put in a locker at the store for pickup. I was not able to cancel the gasket seal order. Picking up the gasket at the store would entail a $100 uber ride. Makes no sense to me.

Kitchen garbage disposal purchase and installation
Ordering and scheduling installation were easy even without a cyber phone (I just have an old cell phone and couldn't download the app). Phone numbers were listed online for the support team and communications for a re-scheduling were sent via email so we could make our plans accordingly. The item arrived in plenty of time and the installation took less than an hour to complete. The kitchen was left in neat, clean condition. The disposal works fine so far.

5XP-8 works great for me
I like this brand and model. I’ve owned my house for 32 years, and the previous disposal was the same brand and model. It lasted more than 10 years. If I get that much from this one, I’ll be very happy. It runs smoothly, very little noise, plenty of power. This particular model must be purchased on-line, as it’s not available on the shelf in (or anywhere near) where I live. Installation through Lowes (run by Angie) was simple and worked pretty well — best choice for me.

/we had an older Badger 5 that quit working after 14 yeas. Ordered the Badger 5XP with 3/4HP motor to replace it. Since the Xp and 5 had similar measurements was able to replace and install in around 20-30 minutes, Note: This time includes installing it twice. I had a senior moment and forgot to remove the dishwasher plug the first time (LOL). One tip for installation is to have the tightening wrench already inserted in the disposal collar when pushing it into the sink mounting collar. Makes it ...

Only lasted 3 years
The blades are made of great steel but barrels are made of soft steel. As a consequence when it jammed from disposing beef fat the blade ripped up a projecting curf ruining the unit
