I love the ear protection but I can’t figure out how to keep the visor on.

Fragile ear protection

This helmet could be great. It fits great, it works great, but pull on the ear cup the wrong way and it snaps right off. The ear protection is a proprietary design and all plastic so you can’t easily replace it unless you can somehow buy the parts from Husqvarna and then it’s easily broken again.

Cheap Plastic Design

This safety helmet lasted about 6 uses before the plastic clip on the ear cup broke. The design using a thin plastic bracket makes it so easy to break rendering the earcup useless making the helmet useless. I contacted Husqvarna customer support who refused to help. They referred me to Lowe's even when its outside the Lowe's return/exchange period. If you want cheap with no manufacturer support, then this helmet is for you.

Recommend other safety helmet

I purchased this Husq chainsaw helmet in 2021. Basic problem is the mesh face screen rusted out 18 months after purchase and Lowes does not sell replacement screens. I checked the Husq website with no luck. I called helmet mfg (JSP.com) that is stamped on underside of brim, who put me in contact with a distributor to purchase an exact replacement. This needs to be improved.

I have used this helmet a small number of times, but today I was unable to do so because the occipital plastic strap broke at the joints :/ I think this needs to be improved somehow, since the helmet only lasts for a short time due to this defect in the design of the occipital strap.

Bad instructions

The product is durable and functions as advertised. I have many Husqvarna products: Riding mower, snow blower, chain saws, string trimmer, etc. If this helmet had been the 1st item from them that I bought- it would have been the last. The assembly instruction are terrible. It's a helmet- how hard can it be to have at least somewhat understandable illustrations?

So far, so good...kinda

Seems a bit flimsy. If I were doing heavy-duty work with the fear of large branches coming my way, I may not trust this to save my life, but for the protection typical home/landowners need, this is probably sufficient. The sun visor is very tricky to install. pressure down on the two top tabs and pressure on the center tab required to snap it into place. Maybe Husq could just ship it with the visor attached.

I didn't realize I needed it until I bought it.

I was going to just use an old hard hat I had for work and a pair of shooting earphones. I decided to try this first when I couldn't find the old hard hat. Just moved and haven't pulled everything out of boxes. I like having the mesh shield protecting my face. I can't stand the poly shields because they always have a tendency to fog. This protects me and keeps my face from turning into a swet factory. Never fun melting all over and then having saw dust sticking to you.

good protection

For the average homeowner this is good protection when using a chain saw. When I was first assembling this helmet, the word junk came to mind but after using it I changed my mind. It's comfortable to wear and the noise muffs do an excellent job. There is no knob for the size adjustment but the notch adjustment worked better than I thought it would. Necessary PPE

There was a lot of assembly required. The instructions were not comprehensive and vague. Putting this helmet together was like working a puzzle. I felt intelligent & accomplished having done so successfully! That being said..... The finished product & end result is a really nice, well made piece of PPE. In combination with a pair of safety goggles and a good respiratory mask, your ready for some chainsawing! Afterwards, it doubles as a fencing helmet!
