I purchased this Husqvarna 435 chainsaw on Thursday at Lowe’s. On Saturday I tried to start the chainsaw to do some yardwork using the recommended Husqvarna pre-mixed fuel. I followed the starting instructions on my new Husqvarna with no success. I pulled the cord at least 50 times, and nothing. This saw is the bane of my life. To start: I worked for a tree company for 3 years till I went to college. Know how to work a chainsaw blindfolded and ballgagged. A "no" just because it doesn't start reliably.
A lot of people struggle to get these things started. After that, they also find that the idle is too low and the throttle needs to be massaged to keep the saw running even after it's warmed up. Having been through that, here's some advice: first, pass on the 435 altogether if you're still shopping. It's not a great saw, and I should have read the reviews myself. Epic fail
I could not start this saw by myself. The first time starting, it took 2 people. One pulling the cord, one massaging the throttle, but it did start that way. It is much lighter weighing chainsaw than the 455
It took a while to initially get it started and running and keep it running. I guess I’m still in the break-in stage of it. This part is a little disappointing. Thought about taking it somewhere and getting the idle adjusted. Still gonna get a little bit to break in before I do that if I have to. I am very pleased with the weight and the ease of cutting!

Great saw once you tune it.
Got one of these many years ago for a project, and it worked great. A year later it wouldn't start. I got one of the screwdrivers to adjust the carb and got on YouTube where I learned how to conservatively tune the thing. After that it has run pretty okay. My shed also has a good cordless chainsaw, which is nice for working up in the trees or got just a few quick cuts. But it can't keep pace with the speed and power of a gas saws. Awful return policy for out of the box broken item
Awful, didnt work right out of the box and Lowes wont take it back because i put gas in it. No way to test their broken product without gassing it up but now lowes wants no responsibility for the return. Shameful customer service....stay away.

So sad I bought this saw based on the Husqvarna brand name. Out of the box, it was hard to start, despite the so-called "easy start" design. When it did start - - using premixed engineered fuel and MANY pulls - - it ran for about 5 minutes and stopped, and would never start again. I think the reviews tell the story. Go for a Stihl or an electric. I think I've had it with gas saws.
