The industrial light covers are made of plastic.

I ordered this online and it was very expensive compared to other Hunter Models in the store. It does not come with a remote and there are other very similar models with remotes and antique glass shades that are half the price of this one. I bought this as it has the industrial looking shades that I thought would match my bathroom lights. The bathroom lights are metal and this fan has cheaper plastic light coverings. Easy to install, brighter light then the one we took down with a white globe over one bulb and I think we could use different bulbs and it could be even brighter. We are using it on our patio and it goes nice with our wrought iron with beige cushions furniture!

This fan is mostly what I thought it would be. My only issues are the "natural iron" look is shiny black and the 3 lights do not have glass or plastic globes like i thought i saw online. They are black plastic cages with the bulbs exposed to the elements. Otherwise the fan is Hunter quiet.

Fan runs very quiet and looks great. Assembly was a little tedious as some of the instructions were a little vague (as to what screws go where). Also attaching the light assembly was also a bit of a chore (needed more hands, but figured it out).
