Light kit looks nice but is missing quality

This kit is a nice-looking upgrade over the traditional 3 or 4 light shades. The bowl is a nice color that goes well with any sort of tan, brown, or beige scheme. The kit comes with two LED bulbs, but they aren't that bright. That's OK for some rooms, though. It also comes with an additional decorative cap in another color. Harbor Breeze let customers down

This kit says it is for black or bronze Harbor Breeze fans. What they fail to mention is Harbor Breeze makes fans in "antique bronze" and "bronze". This kit matches "bronze". The end cap is far enough way from the fan and is close enough that it works OK cosmetically but it is not exactly right. Also, and this is the kicker, they only include a black pull knob. Bronze pull knob is not included at all!!!! Store manager was nice enough to give me a bronze pull knob set, but again, that is "br...

Not as advertised!

The glass bowl I received was nothing like the picture. It was more flat, and white. It only had one hole for the light pull, none for the fan pull. No way that was going to work! We tried to squeeze it through the one hole, but it was impossible to pull it. We really didn't need the whole Light Kit, just the glass bowl, but the person I chatted with said this will work. And it might have if the correct bowl was in the box! I had to return it to the store.

Installation of light kit

I wanted to replace a old light kit on a harbor breeze fan. So I bought this light it to beautify the older fan. The bottom piece needed to install this kit is not included in any of the kits. You can install this kit to a fan without a preexisting light kit but not on their own fan with a old light kit on it. Lowes can’t get the piece so what’s up with Harbor Breeze. Worked with an old Hunter Fan

I was skeptical on whether this was truly "universal", but worked fine on our patio with an old Hunter Fan. Was able to revive the old fan, and it made a world of difference in how it looks! No issues wiring up the light kit, it was a lot easier than expected. Only minor issue was that the box shipped with a bad LED bulb. Easily resolved by putting in a different one.

Easy install...

We installed two of these, one in each of the "front" bedrooms. Everything was in the box, well packed. Took me almost as long to cut the "quick connects" off the "Lights" wires in the fan housing and strip the wires, as to do the rest of the install. Looks great and works well...

Globe is hard to hold. Mounts with threaded tube.

Globe nut, locknut, washer is hard to put on holding the globe on the stem. There is a better solution, and most fans have it. a nut with a large washer, with a rubber gasket integrated in it. This was my biggest issue with this light kit. The fixture uses the standard size threaded tube for mounting to your existing fan control housing. It was easy to install, and what I was looking for, comes with two A15 dimmable LEDs.

Pros and Cons - Quality product with a caveat

PRO: High quality product, relatively easy to install. CON: This is a "standard" light bulb socket fixture labeled as "LED" The only thing that makes it LED are the included bulbs. This is NOT directly compatible with Hunter brand fans (or probably any other) The assembly does not have the pre-wired connector. You are required to cut the old assembly and hard wire this assembly in. Doing so is easy for an experienced handyman. I would not recommend if you are not familiar with electrical wirin...

Let there be Light

we have gone 4 years without a ceiling light on the fan in the Livingroom. Due to being homebound because of the covid19 virus, we were looking for new projects. We decided it was time to add a light for reading the newspaper. We went to our Lowes store looking for a kit to fit our fan. This light kit is a different brand but universal so we could use it. We are happy and sorry it took us so long to add the light. It was 39.99 at Lowes and 66.98 from Amazon. We made the right choice.

it's a light kit, what can you really say

Matched my Home Depot Altura ceiling fan better than the more expensive, matching one from Home Depot-which was made of plastic! This is heavy-weight glass and large diameter (around 12" or so). Only problem is that it did not have standard wiring plug-in to match my fan so I had to cut off the fittings and use butt joint splices (or wire nuts, if desired).
