Surprisingly bad at home automation

Used to like it

It seems the longer i use my Google Assistants the worse they get. I am so tired of hearing "something went wrong try again in a minute" when actually nothing went wrong. I use Google WiFi mesh router. I have 8 assistants and 50ish switches through out the house. 1500 square feet and the garage and the shed. Nice little speaker

I really like that the Nest Mini works with my ADT doorbell, when someone rings the doorbell the speaker lets me know that someone is at the door. I also like that I can asked it any question and get the right answer, along with playing any music I request.

Nest Mini throughout the house

I wanted speakers to work with my Home speaker, to broadcast, message and to play music in various spots. It does do this. I have noticed a message that my system is maxed out and that other speakers can not operate until system is lessened. This shows up on my home speaker. I have noticed some inconsistences in the operation, but usually can get what I want by asking a couple of times. Not as sensitive to voices

I purchased this to replace my original mini in the livingroom which got moved in the master bedroom. Now when I ask for assistance, the original one that is now in the master bedroom answers me and the one closest to me does nothing. Have had to increase the sensitivity and the biggest upgrade was this one is more sensitive. They also say they have a proximity sensor that I have yet to see it work at all. Surprisingly easy and fun to use.

A little bit of a learning curve for me and the voice commands. Did my whole house and property. I have a total of 42 devices and wow thats a lot to set up all at once! But easy to do the installation and programming per unit. Just a lot of units.

Great start to a smart home.

Installed three of these for my 80+ YO Mother in law. She uses these to listen to music throughout the house. Connected it to the thermostat so she can control it by voice. She can also make phone calls hands free. The only downfall is it can not call 911, even though some of their information says it can.

For a Mini it does alot!

We are so happy to have purchased this and are having fun checking out all the things it can do for us. Just love, love, love this! Maybe one day, we will upgrade to the next level. But, for a mini, it plays music we like, sets alarms, turns TV, youtube, and other smart wifi electronics on. Love that it finds information for us. We are still exploring everything it can do. Genious!

Looks nice. Good price. Not perfect.

We need these sprinkled all over the house, or else to control anything, you have to yell and that wakes everybody else up at night or in the morning. There are issues with it hearing you say "hey google", when it is playing music. It works pretty will with knowing which room you are in, even if you living in an open architecture home. The home integration still has issues with commands, but that is a general issue, not a Nest Mini issue.

Google Nest is awesome

We have placed multiple Google nests throughout our house to allow us to have an interconnected Network. We use it to have a home-wide sound system. Also having all the other Google nest features spread out throughout the house is very useful. We use timers, set alarms, get reminders, check the weather, from anywhere in the house.
