This is my third Generac (at 3 different locations). The process was a bit intimidating on the first one and it is a large investment, but now that I have had a Generac I can't imagine being without one. It is one of the first things I did when I bought my new place. Once installed, it is on autopilot. When the power goes out, others may struggle, move to a hotel, etc.--but the pooch and I continue on just like it was any other day. The Mobile Link APP adds additional piece of mind, as when...

When initially installed I had control of functions from my phone. Soon after installation the Wi-Fi part failed and need to be replaced. At that time I no longer had control of functions from my phone and those that I talked to basically said tough! I had a generac in my previous home and one reason I bought again was I like the control feature on my phone. I have two more homes I’m planning to build, but unfortunately generac wont be first choice now…. Of course that could change if I had my ...

Features are okay. I just need it to run.
The unit threw a rod in January of 2025 and threw 2 more rods in 2026 with a sum total of 115.5 hours of run time. I can see a unit going down once and being repaired, but twice for the same thing, even Generac should recognize there was and is a problem. Generac finally fixed it but after months of waiting. I would not recommend a Generac to my worst enemy because of Generac's reluctance to make it right.

Air filter issue on brand new 22KW generator
My new whole house generator was installed a month ago. After living with frequent power outage for years, we decided to invest in a new whole house generator to be able to stop rolling out the portable generator, extension cords, flashlights and worrying about food in refrigerator and freezer. All that concern was in the past now that we invested in our new generator. The generator performed properly on the power outage test after the installation though we have now discovered that the power ou...

An Infant and a sump pump
My power was going out on a monthly then turned into a weekly basis. I spent so much time on the phone with DTE to get daily or hourly credits for my service being down. This made life difficult with an infant and a sump pump. I invested in an 18KW whole home generator, this was the best home decision I have made. No more am I using the stove to heat in winter and window units plugged into a portable generator in the summer. With a sump pump you only have so much time to get the power to it befo...

The number one feature is the Mobile Link App
I bought this a couple months ago and the installation was finalized this past week. It has not been in service yet but I know it will be there next time we have a large storm and loose electricity. The generator is very well built and the installation was top notch.

Generac - Great investment
The Generac has already run three times, and each time it worked exactly as expected. It gives our family peace of mind knowing we have reliable backup power whenever we need it. We are very satisfied with our purchase and the confidence it provides during power outages.

Caution needs paid
Be careful from whom you purchase the Generac....my supplier lied to me & then refused phone calls & e-mails, so now I use another authorize dealer/service company when I purchased my 2nd Generac & for my yearly service

Good machines, but Maintenance HOGS!
I have two of these machines at each of my homes. They seem to work well, but are maintenance HOGS! Nice when you need them, but they demand lots of attention, especially oil changes.

Looks good and quieter then my portable generator.
We purchased ours a few months ago and had it installed about a month. We were going to use the existing switch we have with our solar panels and the EG4 batteries but come to figure out we had to get the switch installed by the company that installed our unit because the place to connect to the EG4 inverter was being used by one set of solar panels that was running on AC. If that set of solar panels was DC like my other set of solar panels then we could have used the EG4 inverter and saved a lo...
