They break. No one has time to wait several weeks for repairs. I love the machine, but they break. First time it stopped spinning. Second time it's leaking water. I really want to get another one, but at 1000 bucks every 2 years it's not worth it.

All of the issues that other reviewers of this product have reported, I've also experienced. Hard to believe the 4.5/5 overall rating. Or, just wait. It'll happen. For the first year, this model is wonderful. After that, it's a major hassle to keep having repaired and new parts ordered (at my expense). What a terrible investment. Unbelievable that a set like this can't last more than several years. Washer and matching dryer are both lemons. Disappointing.
Designed to fail with prevention
Found out that this machine has two different boards and one of them needs to be replaced at year 4. Costing about 50% value of a new machine with service charge, parts, and labor. What’s really disappointing is that there’s no way to prevent the boards from failing. We can do everything right and it’s still out of our control. It can fail again month from now. We will never purchase GE appliances again.

Leaves clothes dirty
I’ve had this washer for four years. In that time I’ve tried a multitude of different detergents and washer settings: automatic detergent dispensing, manual, cold water, hot water, warm water, extra soil level, low soil level, you name it. Not once have my clothes ever come out smelling clean. At best they smell like nothing, and at worst they just smell a little bit like stale body odor. Not sure how this washer has 4.5 stars... Zero/negative was not an option and one star is generous. Purchased in July 2023 and do an average amount of laundry. MULTIPLE issues, had to replace the control board ($500) in December and should have just tossed it then and replaced this piece of JUNK! Didn’t last long; not worth money
I have had this washer for approximately 2 to 3 years and it has already broke down. I have spent the last eight weeks with an appliance service trying to fix this item and they have installed three control panels, a new door lock, and a new motor and my washer is still not working. I paid so much money for this washer and for to last such a short period of time, it was not worth my money. Once one issue begun, additional issues have a rose.

Bought this washer with the matching dryer in 2023. It is broken in 2026, after less than 3 years. Thanks for absolutely nothing, GE!
Problems
We’ve had this for about 3 years and it already doesn’t work. Electrical issues. I will not buy one of these again. It’s cheaper just to go to the laundry mat at this point.

Great machine the first year
The first year we had this machine I loved the capacity, the odor guard and the tank to hold laundry soap. We have had to replace the control panel 3 times. One repair person said it’s a known issue, one said cheaper to buy and new one and buy the extended warranty.
