Would NOT recommend this washer. Bought it in November 2023. Had it for 2 years and had 2 control boards replaced and door lock actuator replaced. To GE credit all repairs were paid for by them, but I had to negotiate 2 of them as they were after the first year and even then they were reluctant. Overall, clearly a defective design or model. Purchased this washer for our second home so it was not getting used daily. We recently moved into that home full time but after only 6 months of normal use this washer has given us nothing but problems. Expensive and misses the mark

I needed to replace the GFWR4805FMC pedestal model, which was not cost effective to repair because the spider broke. GE has changed their models quite a bit and finding a like replacement was impossible. Aesthetically, I'm very disappointed with how this product is built - there is an inch gap on the sides between the machine and the riser, and you can see the hardware that holds the two together. The capacity, cycle features, and even the noise level are not too bad at all. The real issue is the performance. We are a married couple and don’t use the machine as often as a family. We clean it out monthly and typically run it every few days, sometimes going even longer between uses. Poor Performance

Excellent capacity, but poor performance. The Programming knob went off and was not able to set it to the correct cycle. It was fixed. Six moths later it shut off. MOther board changed, Lock changed finally the water pump was not working. Thanks God still was under warranty. Very sad and disappointed, because it looks great and the features are fantastic.

We had this washer for 1 1/2 years. The limited warranty last for a year for a reason cause that’s how long it lasted! Luckily we bought as extended warranty with Allstate. One day it just stopped spinning. Allstate replaced motor, belt and now the inverter board. We were told the issues with the washer are beyond repair. Top rated... factor in an extended warranty

I wasn't really in the market for a new washer. I bought it because my 3.5 year old GE washer just like it (slightly older model) decided to go out (motor, pulley system, and inverter.) Junk. One month to the day after the warranty expires it stopped working. Replaced the pump and work for about another month then the door lock jammed. Replace the lock. The next thing that went out was the control board. My biggest regret is buying the matching dryer one month before the warranty went out…now it is a ticking time bomb. I’ve had my GE set for three weeks and I’m in love! They get my family’s clothes really clean and dries nicely. My favorite features are 1) the venting after a wash cycle, which completely dries the washer so there’s no mildew or musty smell, and 2) the 1-step wash and dry feature on the washer, which I use quite a bit if I run a load before bed or if I’m not sure when I’ll get back to the laundry room.
