Locked handles slip

I bough a pair maybe 10 years ago and they have worked pretty well. They provide very appreciable mechanical advantage to cut large diameter branches and save me the trouble of trying to slip a saw up trees between branches. The problem, however, is that in the last few years the orange plastic locks on the extensions have weakened and now slip. I can still use the sheers, but the loss of firmly locked handles it is a real inconvenience.

Adjustability is great, cheap adjustment levers

I love that this is adjustable. It's great for lopping things close to the ground without having to bend over as much and for working above my head. The adjustment mechanism is better than the older model that I had that I had to twist to loosen and tighten - it came loose often while working. However, the orange adjustment levers feel cheap and likely to break.

Great Product

I have a pair of these loppers and I can only rave on the performance they have provided to me. I had two 30 foot maple trees cut down and I cut up all the branches that were 1 3/4" diameter. I spent about 24 hours cutting up all the branches and the loppers cut and cut and cut. I was chopping the branches into small chunks so that the huge amount of debris could go into my trash bin, I filled a 62 gallon bin about 6 times and the weigh of the debris each time was about 200 pounds. I love these loppers!

I bought my loppers many years ago (maybe 10-ish) and I have done so much lopping every year. They make my pruning and lopping sooo much easier. They give me a lot of leverage in cutting larger branches and give me a great reach too. Everything is intact and other than an occasional sharpening and maybe a bit of oil, it's my reliable tool. Poor handle locks

Handle lock broke after 5 months. This one replaced my original that had locks that did not work. When contacting Fiskars the stated that since the original has been already replaced by Fiskars the are falsely stating their warranty that the unit THEY replaced cannot be replaced again. NOT STATED IN THEIR WARRANTY

Very dependable & stays sharp!

We absolutely have loved these loppers for the past 3years. The house we bought had an overgrown backyard with unkept plants and trees. (I wish I had taken a picture of the before we started yard). We have trimmed, cut up branches to be able to burn with these loppers without sharpening or failure…until today. One of the handles fell apart when I extended it. Thankfully my husband was able to fix it & you can’t even tell it fell apart. I will be replacing them if anything happens without a doubt...

Locking extending handles FAILURE.

I bought this lopper a couple years ago and was somewhat satisfied with it until recently, the adjustable handle on one side broke. A piece of plastic and small flat piece of metal, came out the end of the handle after it broke. Since the extended handle could not be locked in place, the extented handle function was of no use.
