Review: I purchased seven of these alarms in 2021 (five standard and two speaker models). Unfortunately, we’ve experienced around a dozen false smoke alarms over the years, almost always in the middle of the night. The most recent one woke the entire house at 3:44 AM with no smoke or fire present. The smart features have also been disappointing. The app often provides little useful information after an alarm, and it doesn’t reliably identify which detector actually triggered the system. HomeKit...
False Alarms and End of Life after 2 years
I purchased 7 of these for a new home build with vaulted ceilings. I wanted ones that I could silence through an app on my phone because I knew reaching them was going to be almost impossible with them mounted about 14 -- 22 feet up on the ceiling per code requirements. Getting them to register with my WiFi for app alerts was difficult to begin with but after I finally got them connected, I found that the control for silencing them was a Bluetooth connection and doesn't even go through the WiFi....
10 year device didn't make it 3 years.
[Employee of lowes] It was easy to set up, and I really liked some of the features. I liked having multiple devices linked so if an alarm is activated in the kitchen it will also announce in the bedrooms. Occasionally the kitchen device is activated when cooking and I really like being able to silence it from my phone instead of getting out the ladder and climbing up to press the button. Unfortunately the 10 year battery lasted less than 3 years. I contacted the manufacturer who said that...

No better than a "dumb" alarm
I bought this hoping I could add one smart alarm, interconnect it with my existing First Alert "dumb" alarms, and receive notifications on my phone. I hooked it up, tested it by setting off another alarm in my house, watched it too go off with all of the others, and then waited, waited, and waited for a notification that NEVER came to my phone. I also tried by setting off this Onelink alarm directly but still no notification despite it blaring as loud as possible that I needed to evacuate. I set...

Looks good but a few minor issues
Looks good. Easy to install except that the screws provided were poor quality and did not fit holes in junction box. Setup in the app took two tries, but ended up working. Unit has a nightlight that can be dimmed in the app, but it doesn’t turn completely off and while the manufacturer online description showed the light color could be changed, this does not appear to be possible in the app. The square shape means you have to pay attention to the alignment of the bracket so that the unit does no...

Easy set up, great connectivity
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This 2-in-1 detector is super easy to set up. Once caveat for those concerned they may have received a dud unit is that it needs to be clicked in securely into the base in order to turn on. Trying to turn it on before you follow the full installation will result in...nothing! Not a product flaw--just follow the instructions. Once turned on, pairing to phone is super simple, especially with the QR code provided. Download the app, and you'...

Great for peace of mind
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first saw this First Alert Onelink Battery Powered Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector with Mobile and Voice Alerts I was very intrigued. We live in an older house and I have known a few people in our family who have experienced a gas leak and were thankfully alerted by their carbon monoxide detectors. The most intriguing thing for me about this specific model is the fact that it comes with a mobile app that will alert me in case I am away ...

Reputable Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First Alert is the first thing that comes my mind when I'm looking for carbon monoxide and smoke detection equipment. So when I saw First Alert Onelink Battery Powered Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector with Mobile and Voice Alerts I was over the moon with excitement. Also, the fact that it is battery powered and doesn't have to be hardwired was definitely a plus and made my choice that much easier. It is also visually pleasing to the eye. O...

Peace of mind even when I’m not home
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first saw this product, I really liked the 2 in 1 ability for it to monitor both carbon monoxide and smoke without needing separate detectors for each. It was pretty easy for my husband to install. This gives me peace of mind for the times when we are not at home, since we will get notifications on our phone. It also gives voice alerts so if something were to happen when we are home, we would know where the danger is. This is the only de...

Great product, crappy tech help
The alarm was easy to setup, but when I migrated to a new network, the alarm was unable to complete Wi-Fi connection process, after a factory default reset. Customer service escalated to tier 2 when I called the first time, promising a return phone call or email. I have yet to hear back from Tech help. Customer service hints at an issue with mesh Wi-Fi, but nothing concrete. The I only communication I received was a request for a review of the customer service department, as of one week after...
