Awful - repetitive false alarms

My smoke alarms reached their end of life, so I picked out some new ones - these. I bought 6 of them in Nov 2023. Within 1-2 months, the false alarms started. I messaged the company on their website, with no response. The false alarms continued, and I had to break off the tabs and completely deactivate 2 of them to get the alarms to stop. No Batteries to Worry About

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This smoke alarm is thinner than our previous one so it doesn't stick out so much on the wall. It was super easy to install and the best part of all was not having to put in batteries. It comes with a lithium battery installed, so all you have to do is activate it when you put the detector up. It’s not exactly the same as the one I had before

I try to get the same smoke detector as I had with a 10 year battery that didn’t last more than three years so that I could use the same screws in the ceiling. It looked correct and measured correct but when I got it it was a little off. But I was able to manage to get it up on the previous screws. I hope it lasts the 10 years that it’s supposed to last this time

Lasted 9 months

The smoke detector last 9 month, bought in September 2023 failed with multiple false alerts in June 2024. Previous one lasted 4 months which was the same model. So 0 for 2. That should give you some idea of the quality here by First Alert. Moving on to another manufacturer. Also, I don't understand why Lowes has not pulled this product.

DO NOT BUY

These never last more than 3 years and frequently give false alarms. I’ve been through 10 of them in 4 years. I’m so tired of calling First Alert and getting them replaced. Honestly, I think it might be time for a class action lawsuit. These products are supposed to save lives and these ones have been defective for years.

Disappointing

I installed two of these in June 2020 and one of them died in November 2023. So much for a 10 year battery. If they provided the option to swap the lithium battery out I could at least do that. Now I get to buy another whole unit to install. Needless to say, it wont be a First Alert
