Junk. Totally Regret Purchase

I purchased this to replace my old 20+ year old Troy Bilt 5500 generator to power my home during frequent California power outages. My Troy Bilt has no issues powering my home when used. Don’t buy this!

My generator would only run for 3 minutes and kick off. Without anything hooked to it. I called Lowe’s and they said I was over my 48 hour timeframe. Powers the Whole House

Our old generator failed during a storm related power outage. This one is slightly more powerful and it is capable of powering the entire house, minus the heat pump. Solid Backup Power

I purchased the 10kw 50 Amp Tri Fuel generator for backup power on my home. Had my electrician install an Interlock on our main breaker panel. I can run my entire house with this unit. You'll need to alternate use of your large appliances, Stove, HW Heater, Dryer. Other than that, we can function normally during power loss with the Firman. And love the electric start! burns oil, shuts off every couple of hours

I was able to run two tanks of fuel through this machine before it would not restart. during these two tanks I had to go restart repeatedly because the CO detector shut it down even though it's in an open field with a light breeze. the reason it wouldn't restart is it was 3/4 of a quart down on oil.

Works well, no surprises

This generator works very well and the operation of the features is easy to understand. The switchgear is very high quality and should last a long time. However, the engine runs at full RPMs all the time regardless of load, and is extremely loud, so I would say this generator is preferable for those without close neighbors. I would prefer to see a smart feature that would lower the RPMs (and would save fuel) when the generator is less loaded.

Manufacturing Defects

I got one of these generators to power my dog grooming trailer. After about 700 hours the throttle snapped in half. I got the replacement part ordered but I have a business to run and couldn’t reschedule 5 days of clients to wait for the part. So I decided to buy another new one thinking I would have a back up after I got the first one fixed. The new one ran for less than 50 hours before the CO sensor started to malfunction. Pretty Good Generator

Lowes did a great job as it arrived on time as ordered. It is very easy to set up and get running. 15 to 20 minutes to unbox, attach the wheels and rubber pedestal leg, add the supplied quart of oil, and connect the battery. I noticed one cross member of the frame was bent, but there was no damage to the box. After I connected the generator to my Rhino propane tank, it started up with no issues. It runs quieter than my Westinghouse.

Warranty

System is easy to set up and operate. Time will tell how well it holds up after a week or two of running after a hurricane. I would never buy the Lowes extended warranty as I have purchased 3 major products from Lowes and their third-party repair service sent me a check instead of repairing. Doesn't cover purchase of new product. Stick with the mfg. warranty and save yourselves $$$.
