I have owned this for several years with light, now and then use. Buyer beware that Dremel uses cheap plastic switches that fail. You would think that for the cost of this tool, they would source a part that doesn't so consistently give out. If I had designed or sold this, I would be ashamed of myself. A simple internet search will tell you how common this problem is.

Governor failure
The variable governor is of poor design. Debris will settle on circuit board and short if out. No replacement part. Same for the mm35 model. If I would known this to be the case I would have taken cover off and blew off the debris on circuit board after each use.

Powerful
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let me start this review with some back ground. A year ago I did not think I needed or had a use for an “oscillating multifunction tool”. Then I found myself doing some remodeling where I had to cut out floor decking right next to a wall and cabinets. So I decided I would try an oscillating tool. I made the cheap mistake of purchasing a Chicago Electric from HF. This was the top model but only had 2amps. It was also very loud. But this tool int...

Amazing tool to have!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a few months ago and so far have used it to sand, cut wood and metal. It’s a little slow compared to a dedicated powered saw but it does the job and as far as sanding it does great. I love that it has variable speeds and it has plenty of power to get through all kinds of materials. The lock system is a little slower than some quick release systems but I like this one. The angled head and grips are nice and it’s comfortable to ...

Dremel Universal Interface system on an MM%)
Bought the Dremel MM50 at Lowes. Sales person told me that the MM50 could take other brands tools other than Dremel. Got home to do some Grout work with a Dewalt Carbide blade for grout removal and it would not fit. Tried another off brand tool and it wouldnt fit. Called the comapany and they told me that the Dremel Universal Blade Interface system will only use the Dremel tool. It is called that because Dremels Tools are called universal and will fit on other brands. and only Dremel Brands wil...

How did I survive without one?
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I finally got my long awaited Dremel MM50 kit at Christmas, just in time to replace a warped, sagging water damaged under cabinet Kitchen shelf. (Of course we fixed the source of the leaks first). The MM50 not only made the demolition of the existing shelf quick work, it made all of the cuts in the replacement wood simple. It cut like butter through the two by fours to build the new bracing frame, using the Dremel 2 x 4 blade. Once the wood w...

Time to upgrade
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As an owner of an original Dremel Multi-Max, the MM50-01 Multi-Max is an incredible upgrade to the already great tool! With more than double the power and tool-less blade change system makes it a perfect time to upgrade. Blade changes are almost instant using the new system, and no Allen wrenches to lose, just turn the knob to tighten! I found the new system to securely hold both Dremel and non-Dremel blades and accessories. When I used the M...

light and powerul
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this wonderful Dremel Multi-Max MM 50 to test and review and I can say Dremel is my favorite for its style, quality, power and craftmanship that last and lasts. There are so many accessories that you can purchase for any job, project or hobby. I have been having such good luck with the ease of this Multi-Max with its 5.0 amp motor that I loose track of time and just keep working. The different accessories are easy to change so you ca...

Awesome performance
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this tool over a year ago and have found so many uses for it that I never expected at the time of purchase. The comfort and balance of the tool spoiled me when I once borrowed another oscillating tool from my brother. The quality and performance just paled in comparison to the Multi-Max I was used to using. After mentioning that I much preferred my tool over his, I loaned it to him for the completion of the project we were involv...

Great Versatile Tool - An essential to have.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been wanting an oscillating tool for a long while and when a new home project came up to repair and paint trim on window seats the MM50-1 has proven a great resource. Sand and strip paint in tight corners of window sills was a breeze. I also used it to cut wood flooring to bury an electrical cord that was in the way. Now the floor is easy to vacuum and clean. In review of other multi - oscillating tools the MM50 was the most cost effe...
